Outside the Window

I thought this was a really great short film. This was Allan's thesis film from Chapman. I had the opportunity to see this film last week at the New York Film Academy at Universal Studios, Los Angeles. He was my directing teacher in the 1 week AMC program. I learned more from his class than any of the others and I can tell you first hand that the guy is not only a talented director, but is also very knowledgeable in the areas of writing and cinematography. I'm not sure where you can get a copy of this movie, as I was in a class where Allan presented his personal copy, but If you can if you can find this it's definitely worth the watch. For anyone interested in film, I recommend this as an example of a short film that makes the audience care by introducing characters and their relationships in a short amount of time and in one location.

Not since Pinocchio has such wooden acting been perpetrated upon an unsuspecting public.Mr Arturo has evidently been granted his wish to become a Real Boy since no strings were visible but the effect is the same. The only good thing I can say about this amateurish little mess is that it is mercifully short and therefore ones suffering is abbreviated.The homemade quality is undeniable, it is as if a group of bored teenagers were bit by the "Hey! Let's put on a show!" bug to disastrous results.The tag line for this short film is "What if you wake up in the morning and decide that your lonely life is not worth living anymore?" and the end result is that it is difficult to care what happens to this character, he could end up in a dumpster and your first thought would be "So?", your second would be "Good riddance".
