    Another cast member

My wife, Star Edwards, was the harpist. I remember her having to get up every morning around 3-4 am to make it down to Colorado Springs for the shoot. It would be great if they just released what they have of it. I heard it has been screened by one of the schools in the Springs so they must have access to a copy.

I was one of the actors on this film

I was one of the actors who never got paid.

The best part for me was, playing the "Kings Adviser" to Dom Deluise, the King.

Before the director would say action, I would lean over Dom's shoulder and say things like, "Orange Flash in the fifth at Belmont."

The first time I did it, he turned and said "What hell are you talking about,"

    I said,"I'm advising the King."

Dom broke up, and after that we exchanged Italian recipes's.

On my 65th. birthday he sent me a lovely drawing of his.

The world will miss his wit, and charm.

    I wondered what happened

I always wondered what happened to this production. I used to be a model in high school and got cast as an extra. I remember getting my makeup done next to Erin Gray and meeting Warwick Davis. I also remember Richard Kiel was a really nice guy. I still have a picture of me and Dom DeLuise standing outside the building where we were filming. Being that I was only 15 at the time, I had to have a parent on set with me, so my Mom came with me and ended up talking to John Rhys-Davies for a while while I filmed. I guess it's no surprise that production got shut down. Usually anyone who tried to do anything in Colorado Springs didn't ever follow through. Glad to see someone else remembers this film, even though it never got finished.

    User rating 4.1 of 10?

It's simply amazing this film has a 4.1 user rating since it WAS NEVER FINISHED!

There were a handful of shooting days left in Colorado Springs at the replica of the Trianon, and a few days to do at a park in Boulder when the production funding fell apart and the lawsuits started!

It was fun while it lasted, working with name talent in every role, shooting with TWO Panavision camera packages, and acting like a real crew! Little did we know that the producer had no money... Many people and companies lost a fortune on this little baby.

I think the footage ended up at the lab in San Francisco, and the camera and lighting companies ended up eating their losses. The famous hotel in Colorado Springs took a many thousand dollar loss (because that's where all the major talent was staying). Individual crew members lost apartments and defaulted on bills.

In short, a disaster...and completely unexpected with this sort of cast attached. Personally, I believe the producer was a certifiable cuckoo.

    This movie was never finished

I too am surprised that the movie got 4 stars. I remember when this movie was being shot at The Colorado Springs School, which was built by the Maytag family as a replica of the Trianon and is now a school.

Students got the opportunity to be extras (for class credit instead of pay). We were all sad that it never got finished. We always wondered what happened to the movie and why it never got finished. It was a great cast - too bad

I ran into one of the cast many years later and all he said was that it was "run into the ground." The previous comment sheds some light on what happened.
