Ya no los hacen como antes

The actors make the film happen. The history is very predictable and slow but still makes for a good late evening film. I am supposed to write at least 10 lines of text, but really there is not much to say. A love story of two widowers on their 60's (or more?). Some clichés found in many of the Mexican soap operas are repeated here. So I guess in essences this movie is like a mini telenovela with no big conflicts.

Still, I have not completed the 10 lines. One trivia fact is that actor Cerda who was like 250 Kilos in this movie had a gastric bypass an now he is like a size 34 or so (he is rather tall too, so you get amazed at his physical change). I believe his wife and daughter also went through the surgery. Another trivia fact is that he does the voice of Barney in the Spanish dubbed show.

This film is avery entertaining film, I enjoyed it a lot, Gonzalo Vega is a great actor, and Mrs Silvia Pinal shows she still has what is takes. I think the director handles very well the pase of the movie, he should direct movies with some more budget, because he is very talented, and I think he would fit perfectly in hollywood. AAAA+++++
