When I was a kid, I used to read some of her books. My favorites were "Timothy Goes To School" and "Max & Ruby". After years ago, they now have a series out of those two with Timothy on PBS Kids and Max & Ruby on Nick Jr. Those were my childhood memories as I read those books at my school and at home.
It's about two bunnies of a brother and a sister with a 3-year old named Max and a 7-year old named Ruby. They go out of some of their playful times together especially when Ruby takes Max on other things like play games and toys at their home, camping out outside with her friends and do lots of things brothers and sisters can do with each other.
Even now at my older age, I found this show very cute just like how the book was supposed to be and it teaches on how brothers and sister get along with each other by playing and have fun together. If you grew up and love the book, you should watch this series. It's really fun!
From Treehouse in association with Nelvana Ca Limted. A Corus Entertainment Company.

i used to think the same thing about max & ruby always being alone, where are their parents? i decided to find out for myself and read rosemary wells biography. basically, she states you never see max and ruby's parents because she wants children to try and solve their problems on their own. i think it is a great idea because children are given examples on how to solve life's daily problems. max can be annoying and ruby is usually bossy, but i really like them and my 3 year old loves max and ruby. when you compare max & ruby to some of the other cartoons on t.v., i think they are great and i am not worried about any of the contents in their shows.
I cannot express how much my kids & I love this show. My 6 year old has been watching this since she was 2 and I thought she might have outgrown it by now but it is still her favorite series. My 3 younger children are just as enamored with Max & Ruby. There are so many times during any given episode that the 4 of them start cracking up over something so silly that it just fills me up with emotion to see them so joyful over such a sweet, innocent show. I know these days won't last forever so I'm savoring it while I can. I am bothered by some of the other posts that have such negative views on this gem of a show. Adults seem to be bothered that Ruby says "No" to Max too often. My kids say "No" to each other and they are usually not as patient and polite as Ruby is to her little brother. It is perfectly normal sibling behavior...besides, what is wrong with saying "No" to your kids once in a while? I just love the old-fashioned feel the show has about it...from the theme song, to the background music, to the wind-up toys Max plays with. It is a slow-paced, simple show that parents should appreciate in comparison with its competition. I let my kids watch everything from Sesame Street to SpongeBob to Harry Potter but they enjoy Max & Ruby the most. I also recommend buying the DVDs that are available now. The colors & artwork are so vivid & crisp.
My daughter loves this show, she laughs so hard when Max is on the TV. Some of you feel like kids aren't learning properly from this cartoon, like music and dance, but should your kids really be learning anything from a cartoon? I would much rather watch Max and Ruby than Dora and her whiny, scared voice all of the time. We grew up watching Tom and Jerry and the Flintstones and I can honestly say I have never chased a mouse around and tried to make a musical instrument out of his tail. If your children learn to hop on a bus and go shopping downtown from watching Max and Ruby, well, it really wouldn't be the cartoons fault, now would it? Lack of proper parenting would have to be to blame. So let your kids watch a nice little show and then go read them a book and teach them right and wrong. Dear God, please do not let cartoons teach your children their moral foundation! And lighten up, it's a cartoon, not everything has to be a learning experience! Max and Ruby have a great sibling relationship.
My 3 year old daughter has been obsessed with Max & Ruby for about a year now! My son was also when he was in Preschool! I find myself sitting down watching with them and laughing. But I have always wondered where the parents were and why Grandma doesn't watch them since she lives so near by?! What parents would let 2 small kids take a bus to the city to go clothes shopping?! Hmmm??! But overall it is a nice show and I love the mellow music!! The bunny characters are adorable and I like baby Huffington a lot! My favorite episode is The chocolate chicken one when Max ends up eating Ruby's chocolate chicken that the Easter Bunny left, she is bossy and I am glad he ate it!
