NBC produced 5 seasons of a really entertaining show about a Las Vegas casino and the people who work in it. The show did very well at mixing dramatic and comedic moments in the show.
Danny, Ed and Mike all work in the surveillance department of the casino and their job is catch people trying to run scams and possibly rob the casino amongst other things.
Sam is the casino host who's job is to basically take care of whatever "the whales" need while attending the casino.
Mary is involved in all things hospitality related with the casino.
Delinda runs the night club in the casino, she is the daughter of Ed.

For the most part Las Vegas was a big success that shows what goes on in the inside of a casino. This series had the three major themes Action, Drama, Humor, along with the occasional romance with the perfect mixture of sexiness. The theme song for the first four seasons matched the over all speed of the show. It is because of this that everything fell into sequence. The theme song setting the pace for the show was a good attention grabber to hook the audience and real them in. The only time in this series that I began to lose interest in this show was in the 5th season where they changed the theme song. The new theme song gave the show a off center balance. When the show got rid of the most prominent character in show the mood and the interest was sucked out of me to the point where I almost stopped watching. The only thing that kept me watching is the hope that I would see the wedding of Mc. Coy and Deline or the anticipation of whether their baby is going to be a boy or a girl. If I would have known that it was going to end with a giant cliff hanger I would have stopped watching two episodes into the 5th season. but that wasn't all that was wrong with the 5th season. After the first episode it seemed like they just ran out of cool Ideas, got lazy and replaced them with comedy that had too much effort put into it. Over all this is a good series with the exception of the 5th Season. Therefore I give Las Vegas an 8 out of 10 cause it had my attention hooked for 8 tenths of overall length of the show.
Las Vegas was such a criminally underrated show! It follows the surveillance and security team of one Las Vegas' biggest casinos. They have to deal with criminals, card counters, big winners, cheating, rival casinos trying to pry their big money players away from them, among other things. Some (or even most) of it is completely ridiculous but that won't stop you from having a great time watching this show. You just have to turn your brain off. Is it believable? Absolute not. Is it extremely entertaining? Without a doubt! It has something for everyone...action, drama, comedy, romance, etc. I forgot just how much I loved this show!

The actors have all been very well chosen for their roles and it's pretty obvious the age range the producers are predominantly appealing to. But as an approaching 50, I still think it's excellent entertainment. The fast finger snapping pace that all the shows are coming out with these days keeps the tension and the viewer gets so caught up in the pace that any gaffs or gaps in the plot are easily ignored.
If I had any criticism at all, it would be that Nikki Cox is a little too well endowed to trust all that cleavage to the benevolence of gravity.
I hope the show runs for a long time to come.

Now I'm only at the the end of the second season, but I have started to enjoy this show more and more. This reminds me of some of mid 80's show like "Magnum P.I" & "Hawaii Five-0." It's a show that doesn't take itself too seriously and knows it. Unlike so many of the shows today which take everything seriously. Don't we have enough unpleasant issues in everyday life and the world to just go and watch it at home as well? It just seems a shame to have to deal with it every week too! It's nice to see a usually simple show try to entertain us tortured & overworked (most of us that is) folks instead of all the dramatic and unfunny garbage on TV. I am looking forward to the great Tom Selleck back to his rightful place on Television. James Caan will be missed, but the great new character he is portraying brings some freshness to the show. Give this a try if you are looking for a good old fashioned fun show.

Great acting and writing; bits of drama, comedy, and romance, along with outrageous yet fun story lines. For me, Las Vegas never felt worn or tired - every episode was its own story, not necessarily tying into past episodes.
Would have loved to see this series get a couple more years, but alas it wasn't in the cards (pun intended).

It's a bit of fun, but didn't inspire me to go on holiday to Vegas.
Decent and light-hearted light entertainment.

I would like to vent my displeasure at NBC Canceling Las Vegas. The show had been Top Notch for the past 5years. Tom Sellecks addition was great. He really brought a nice fresh addition to the show. What does NBC have now? Lame reality and night time game shows. I mean come on Keep the Old and Tired Law and Order? Not even putting Jack McCoy as DA can keep the show interesting. Gee let's keep quality program like Deal or No Deal or ED? ER should be put out to pasture to. NBC is worse now than it was in Pre Seinfeld Cheers days. With cable and internet, NBC cannot afford to fall flat on its face.PLEASE BRING BACK VEGAS! i remember when Homicide Life on the Street ended the way it did. At least they had a two hour series final. Hey CBS are you listening? Please pick up Vegas it is a great show.
I have watched this show now for three years and although I still will continue to watch, my overall interest in the show has decreased somewhat. The best part of the show is, was, and always will be James Caan. The problem is that the writers don't seem to know what to do with his character anymore. They seem to be softening him up, and kind of ruins it for me. I like the tough Ed Deline who won't take crap from anyone.
My other complaint would be that they really are not utilizing Nikki Cox to the best of her ability. This girl is a pretty good comic actress. I think with some good material, she could possibly steal the show. I always liked the dynamic between her and Josh Duhamel. They're on again, off again, love story has always been the heart of the show for me.
Finally, they seem to be putting Molly Sims front and center lately, and although she is a great supermodel, her acting seems forced and wooden. I would prefer to see more of Nikki, Vanessa, and James Lesure.
Overall, I would recommend Las Vegas, if for nothing else, it is an hour of fun and sin once a week.

This show had a promising start as sort of the opposite of 'Oceans 11' but has developed into a shallow display of T & A. Actually, according to my little brother thats the only good part of the show.
The first season was by far the best, it was new and interesting things just went downhill after that. The only redeeming point of this show is JamesCaan, The other actors are lack-luster. The characters lack depth and they seem to be incredibly selfish nd generally un-likable people.
To quote a friend "Las Vegas is like Baywaych in a Casino" In my opinion thats way to generous, Baywatch was way better, and much more realistic.

This is the best new TV series released to the networks for the 2003 season.
The writing is interesting, characters got developed this season, plot lines were intriguing, and there was comic relief. Check out this show if you have not already seen it on Monday nites.
What I like best about this series is Josh Dahumel. Not only is he eye candy but a good actor, he is fun to watch and you find yourself engrossed in the show. Apparently they have built an elaborate set in Culver City to film some of these scenes, but you can't tell the real shots from the studio shots. They do a good job masking the transition when they show panorama shots of Vegas itself. I often wonder when I view this show, how big their budget is for extras because they do a good job emulating a big casino. This series is strictly entertainment and as long as your expectations are not as lofty as the other reviewer, you will not be disappointed.

This show was awesome. Sadly James Caan has left the firm so to speak. Danny Macoy would do a great job as president of the casino. I'll bet Sam is still dropdead gorgeous, Mary, Dilinda. Come on.let's start this series. Mike Cannon has to be back as well. This was a quality show back when it started. It has it all. Comedy, mystery, murder, stealing, not to mention the gorgeous women. I get it would be a huge success on network or Netflix where it could be a bit more open. I've been watching reruns on Cozi t.v. And can't get enough. Ed Diline was great... an older Sonny Corleone.. let's make this happen.
Very reliable entertainment, as Las Vegas amuses as well as intrigues, very light hearted and very much bolstered by Josh Duhanel!! I like this television show and I think that many people watch it as a form of escapist voyeurism...Voyeurism in this case is very positive, and many females in this series are very nice to look at...This show incorporates Las Vegas legends such as Wayne Newton as intermittent characters to authenticate the Las Vegas genre!! There have been copious depictions of sin city, this is one of the better efforts...The producers and directors are lucky to have James Caan in the show, as he is very much a totally accomplished actor!!! By and large, I like the T.V. Show Las Vegas and I watch it on Fridays, I watched it on Mondays as well, but with Monday Night Football, I could see why NBC switched it to Fridays...Nonetheless, I like Las Vegas a lot!!

First season captivated me. Character development was well done, guest stars were fun.... Very entertaining. Then came the second season. Did the writers change?! All of the characters took a big slide backwards! They turned all of the cool women into Barbie's and the guys into boys who like bimbos. What a change and very disappointing. The whole shows IQ took a dive. Certain types of people will still be entertained, but not ones with discriminating taste. So sad. Only James Caan's character stays somewhat intelligent but wasted on the way the rest of the cast characters have faded. Could have been more than mindless entertainment. .

Just got into viewing program for the first time recently - the 2-hour "kidnapping" program. Don't know why I didn't sooner?? James Caan is outstanding and wholly-believable in the role as the chief honcho at the featured 5* Vegas complex.
So often, programs like this have one or more in the ensemble who are either outright annoying, or seem to have been picked because they must be related to the producer or director.
That is certainly not the case with this program. Along with Caan, all of the primary and supporting cast are engaging attractive, and believable. The guest actors are well-chosen.
The stories I've seen are interesting, and the show presents a good view of the city as well.
This is an entertaining program, and one I hope will remain. I don't know how I managed to miss it for so long, but plan to TIVO it from now on.

I started binchwatching this 3weeks ago. And this is 1 of the best series i have ever seen. Always good acting. People are intresting to watch all diffrent personality's are well thought about. The story's are awesome and never gets boring. Even if this serie is from 2003 it still holds up and is beter then todays tv shows.
But sadly enough there is no ending the last season never got finished shooting. So there are open endings and thats very very sad.
I hope they wil stil make a lets say tv movie to end it all up. Because there still alot of fans that want to see how it all ends up.
To bad the show ended. Very good cast

This show is soso.
It is ok if you wait for something better.
The potential was great for this show.
The only good actor among the main cast is James Caan. And he is too good for the show.
The other is good amateurs as best. Plenty great cameos in the various episodes by good actors, which they should have used as recurring cast more often. But they would probably taken focus away from the main cast.
The main cast is a pretty group of actors.
The fight scenes are embarrassing.
A bit too much booty, bust, body focused.
One thing which is just creepy, and that is when Molly Sims (terrible actress) call her father for daddddyyyy. Just Creepy.
One does not miss anything particular if one misses this show.

I love this show! It is easily the most enjoyable hour of my week. I love it for the high-paced, fast-moving action in which it contains. I love the way it gives a large overview of the state of Las Vegas and how casino floors really operate. The cast is exquisite and full of talent. How can a show not be great with James Caan leading the cast each week? Yet, the best thing about the cast is he doesn't have to carry the show either. While his acting is supreme, he is aided by the talents of his co-stars. Las Vegas has a different storyline each week and keeps the viewer guessing as to what will be the ending in each episode. The camera use is magnificent with the use of fast-motion that really draws the viewer into what is actually happening. A great TV show to watch either by yourself or with friends and family. 10/10

Loved it, sad to see that it was taken out with out a good finish to the show it deserves it!
Josh does a great job as Danny
and Tom puts new blood to the series after James Caan left.
NBC should make another season or a movie just to end it.
If I had any criticism at all, it would be that Nikki Cox is a little too well endowed to trust all that cleavage to the benevolence of gravity.
