Avis à la une
Most of the big studio films out there try way to hard to go for the joke. These filmmakers actually put some thought behind the style of the humor. Yes there was a little too much bathroom humor for some people, but I strongly suggest that you rent this. I loved it. It reminded me a little of Bottle Rockets by Wes Anderson. There are too many movies that have the same five actors. It's nice to see some fresh faces. I wouldn't be surprised if these brothers become a powerful force within the industry. I look forward to more of your stuff guys! Keep it up!

P.S. Really great commentary on the DVD.

Hi, Everyone,
I have just watched the DVD of L.A. D.J. and I will send my bouquets to all the cast and the crew. This one is worth watching.
The actors are all likable and we probably have met someone like each of these people at some point in our lives. I like the mom and the security guard at the disco door and the nurse and the deejay on the Razor scooter and all the grandmas and kids and creeps who show up in Tom and Tim's lives. Tim and Tom might be the Laurel and Hardy of the late night music scene. They have a smiling ineptitude that gives those of us in the audience a chance to see how smart we are. We know who will fall in love with whom before they can figure it out.
Steve McQueen's first real movie success gave no hint of the parts he would play in later years. His debut starring role was in "The Blob." It was a good movie but Steve quickly did totally different roles. That might be the case with Tom and Tim. They might do more zany comedy or either of them might find a bigger role just beyond the rainbow.
Hollywood will not roll out a red carpet for independent filmmakers these days. Maybe Tim and Tom will find a red linoleum leading into the back door of some awards show that recognizes what this movie represents. This is real movie making that could catapult these two past the Hollywood glamour boys of today.
Excellent photography, casting and background locations. There are a lot of little laughs if you look for them or listen for them. All the cast members do a great job, which means there was good direction happening too.

Just checked out this "little" gem of a comedy film : "LADJ"... Awesome movie and the not the "run of the mill" same old "formula" buddy film story you so often see these days!!!
Thomas Ian Nicholas ("Rookie of the Year", "American Pie" fame) was terrific as were all the other cast members... It's what I like (and like to call)- a "great small movie"- more "character driven" with great writing rather than a bunch of mindless violence and big-budget special effects.... This movie gets my vote for becoming the next big sleeper hit ( a la "My Big Fat Greek Wedding")
Check it out..... ASAP!!!!!

You are not looking at the film from the right frame of mind. The reason your reactions are so strong are the same reasons why you should rent the movie again. You clearly don't get it. It's a different kind of film in a time when everything is special effects and vampires. This is the type of movie you have to read between the lines on. That's why I'm fairly certain the two negative comments below are part of a smear campaign. They are simply trying to stunt the growth of the film in the DVD market. It ain't gonna happen guys. I got news for you.... there are far too many people in our corner. I have received personal messages and witnessed peoples reactions in theaters and screenings all over the world. And yes, some people don;t get it. Because they are not dialing into the humor. Then there are other people who catch on and think it's the funniest movie they have seen in a long time. Well, please tell everyone you know how bad my movie is, because if you are what I think, then it won't matter because nobody will believe you anyway. Which that's precisely why you write anonymously over the internet. If you have any courage at all, send me an email @info@ladjthemovie.com. Sincerely,

What the heck is with the DVD market these days? It seems as if anybody can shoot a movie on video and get it released. This film(er, taped film) is another in the long list of titles flooding the market with zero quality. The kid from American Pie must be having career problems. Otherwise he would be appearing in real films instead of directing and producing his own home made production ala "L.A. D.J." Even worse, this kid must really have an ego, otherwise he would know better than to put his name on this piece of garbage. I mean, really. This thing is really a stinker bomb. It is not funny. It is ridiculous. Gee, how many times can the word "dude" or "bro" be used in 90 minutes? And is farting in somebody's face repeatedly funny? I'll admit, "Dude, where's my car" was funny. But at least that film combined the bathroom humor with at least some intelligence. No wonder this went straight to DVD. It should have stayed off the market. Period.
