San chuen lo see III: Ngoc ling chin sun

Shot on video tale of a member of a film crew taking a haunted object home from a shoot and having her life turned upside down.

Poorly acted and adequately shot this is an on the cheap straight to video from Hong Kong thats like many films like this a bit too knowing for its own good. Certainly its not quite like a Troma film, but there is a sense of make believe that permeates these films that prevent you from ever believing a frame of it....(which is sad since the first film in the series is very good)

This is one of a growing number of shot on video cheapies that seem to flooding the Asian horror market (and even the direct to video markets else where in the world). While I admire that we are getting some good films, I hate that we are getting too many films like this which are being made with little care and purely to make a buck, there by undercutting a decent cast trying to actually give performances.

I should note that I haven't seen the first two WICKED GHOST films, so I have no idea if they're anything like this one. However, I have seen WICKED GHOST III: THE POSSESSION, and I can declare it to be a totally cheap and generic Hong Kong ghost story, shot on video with the minimum of fuss and minimum of ideas. There's some self-referencing involved as the story is set on and around a film set where a cast and crew are shooting a gory horror film. Unfortunately for them, one of the actresses finds herself cursed by the spirit of an unhappy ghost, and all manner of supernatural events are soon affecting the director and his crew.

This is a cheap and cheerful film, with a lot of nonsense humour thrown in to make it an enjoyable experience. It isn't; films like this don't tend to travel well across the world, and even somebody who considers himself a huge fan of Asian horror cinema struggled with it. The performances are poor and the effects are even worse, so most of the time I was laughing at it. The film does have a number of attractive young actresses in it, though, most of whom run around in skimpy attire, so if that's your bag you may find more to like here.

Awful attempt at a "kung-bu" (horror) movie. The plot, what there is of it, revolves around the actors and crew on a movie set where the director is shooting a--you guessed it--horror movie. The story involves a ghost who had an unhappy end to life, can't get to eternal sleep, and now seeks to share the misery with the unfortunate cast and crew. Fortunately, one of the crew has a part time job as a necromancer, hee hee, and is able to save a few of the gang when they become possessed by the Wicked Ghost. This is the last of three in a series; I'm not sure why they made three because all three of them are cheaply made, rather dull, with terrible acting and amateurish effects. This flick's one redeeming feature is the gaggle of cute Chinese girls prancing around on the screen. Otherwise, don't waste your time.
