I enjoyed watching "Wielka Wsypa" (The Big Scam). The plot is about Jarek (Jan Englert), a black marketeer, an enterprising schemer during the last days of communism in Poland. When the ground begins to burn under his feet after his last daring heist, after hiding the loot, he asks an acquaintance to "snitch" on him in a completely different matter. It is because he decides to jump from the economic underground to the political underground. In "The Big Scam" I liked the fast-paced action, which kept me in suspense, and the good capture of the realities of Warsaw. Other advantages of the film include irresistibly funny situations, good dialogues, and an excellent cast, especially the great duo: Jan Englert and Krzysztof Wakulinski as the colonel of the security services, formerly Jarek's adversary, and later the most perfect business partner. However, none of the characters in the film was sympathetic enough to me, and the whole story didn't seem credible. I also didn't like the way women were shown-only as objects of sexual desire. But "The Big Scam" is definitely good entertainment if you watch it for the first time and don't know what is going to happen next.
