6.9 ? The show deserves at least 7.5

All low ratings come from grown adults. I'm 29 years old. I watched the show when it came out and I did watch the series 6-7 years ago and again this year. It's pure nostalgia. Of course I recognized things which I haven't when I was a kid. Some cheesy lines and acts, but the shows main target is kids. Besides that it deserves huge credits for well written characters with unique habits and stories. It's thrilling and exciting. I think I tried the later series after this OG Beyblade but couldn't stand its western dub it was terrible bad. I highly recommend you to watch this shows our let your kids watch it. They'll learn what it means to take responsibility, friendship, trust, never giving up in life and more life important values.

They didn't just do that to sell toys. Pokémon for example still sells and the anime has become beyond average.

So don't listen to the 1 star or 2 star or whatever clueless rating. Just let it rip !!

    Read it or ignore it

OK, first of all, I don't watch beyblade anymore because I'm a growing kid and there are such thing that human created called 'school'. At first, I just love season 1 because the plot was very good and the way they battle was just amazing. Even better than season 2.

And I love the personalities of each bladebreaker. Tyson Granger, the stubborn and hot-headed kid. Ray Kon, the calm one and also a great cook. Max Tate, the cheerful kid nad a great friend to hang out with. Kenny, the computer whiz and an intelligent, attentive student. Now the last but certainly not least is the leader of the bladebreakers, Kai, the mysterious but experienced leader. No wonder he always give meaningful advices to the bladebreakers when they're stuck in a beybattle. I could ramble on and on but I think that this is enough.

Oh if you're wondering who's my fav character, that would certainly be the leader of the bladebreakers, Kai Hiwatari.

Good series but has some flaws

"Beyblade" is about a kid named Tyson and his friends who go/travel around battling others with their beyblades (a metallic top-like thing). That's what this series is mostly about and that's it's flaw, that and the fact that there was never exactly a clear explanation of what a "bit beast" was/came from etc. However if you look past those, it's a good series with excellent animation and original music. They should focus on more than just beyblade battling and practicing though.

Also, I see all of these toys being sold related to this series. I hope this is not just a big advertisement to sell toys (no big surprise if so, wasn't the first time _that's_ happened!).

I wonder how long they can keep this going...

    A reasonable Show

I love English dubbed anime. I know a lot of people say its bad and the Japanese version is far superior but its good how they change the show to suit our culture, making it easier for children (their main audience) to understand. The other review says its repetitive but what sport isn't? This was as big as Pokemon and Dragon ball Z at my school, everyone loved it. People say it was only to sell toys, well it did that and it did it good. What kid doesn't want to be a part of something that can save the world like in a TV show. The people who say it isn't very good are usually older people who come across the show while channel surfing, the show isn't aimed at you so its not fair to hate it.

    Shows

I haven't seen the movie but i have seen a few shows from the series. The plot is pretty childish and the animation is ok but in a way, its a show about friendship and trust. Some of the characters are sappy *cough* Tyson *cough* but I do have a strange liking to odd characters. My personal favourite character is Kai for being a bit different (okay very different) from the others and I like his sarcasm. Anyways I hope that the movie is good and I hope they continue the series!

    Let it rip!

Kai: I've traveled a long road to get here, Tyson. This is my life's work. Everything I've seen and everything I've done and it all starts and ends with you. From the first time you defeated me, I've known it. I've watched you grow ever since. Sometimes you won, sometimes you lost, but you always persevered. No matter how bad things got you always looked deep inside yourself and found the strength to continue. And when a member of the team fell,it was you who always picked him back up. When I realized I could never be like you, the only thing left for me was to defeat you. Only then would I have complete faith in my own skill and strength. I had no choice but to find a way to win, no matter what the cost to myself. That's why I had to leave the team. That's why I trained with Dranzer in the frozen tundra of Russia. And that's why I chose Tala as my partner when he would much rather battle solo. I hid myself away in extreme isolation forced to survive in the most hostile environment I could find. I gave up everything from my old life, and dedicated myself to training in mind and body to become the ultimate beyblading machine. Sometimes things got so bad that I was ready to throw in the towel but I just pictured you, Tyson. It all came flooding back. I learned that no matter how tall a wall stands, there's always a way to knock it down to size.

    • Versions alternatives
The English dub changes to intro outro songs, the character's names are changed. The Japanese version has the sacred beasts as Seiryu, Suzaku, Genbu and Byakko. The English dub changes this to Dragoon, Dranzer, Draciel and Driger. The Japanese version,, only certain characters can see the sacred beasts but the English dub has everyone can see them. The English dub has more jokes then the Japanese version. The English dub has scenes cut from it that are too violent.
