Murphy's Stroke

This movie was brilliant from start to finish,...there's no other way to describe it.The plot is about a number of Irish businessmen who relaise they can make a lot of money if they bet small sums of cash in the correct order and make sure that it's their horse that wins.This was an early role for Pierce Brosnan as the horses trainer as well as some other small faces.What makes this movie very interesting is the fact it is based on a true story, and is quite accurate in how it portrays it.It is an excellent movie with good clean fun(...and a lot of chain-smoking).Great if your in the mood for a laugh...and its less then an hour and a half long, so it wont take up too much time.

This made-for-TV movie tells a fun true story with a clever premise and a few charming moments, especially if you're a fan of offbeat crime tales. The plot, based on a real-life betting scam, is intriguing, and there's some added novelty in seeing a young Pierce Brosnan in one of his earliest roles. That said, the film moves at a pretty slow pace and never quite builds enough momentum to feel truly engaging. It's more of a quiet, quirky watch than a gripping caper. Worth checking out for curiosity's sake, but don't go in expecting high drama, flashy production, big laughs, or a slick cinematic experience.
