Gaffes

In the closing scene, Bernie Lootz pulls open his tie once before getting out of the car, and then after he gets back in again.

During the opening credits, the croupier of a roulette table which Bernie has cooled puts the win marker on (00) double zero. However, the ball is still in motion and hasn't yet landed in any slot.

During Bernie's first night with Natalie, his tie changes from looser to tighter.

Natalie's hair changes several times between shots when telling Bernie about her 'Little Joe.'

When Bernie is unlucky at the blackjack table, an empty table is shown with the cigarette butts quickly accumulating in the ashtray. However, this would imply there were people at the table for a long period of time, which wouldn't have been the case if people weren't winning.

At the end of the film as they're leaving they pass a sign saying 'Welcome to Las Vegas'. This is not correct, as the sign does NOT say 'Welcome to Las Vegas'. It is an advertisement for the Golden Shanga La Hotel and Casino. However, since Bernie and Natalie are heading out of town, the sign should face the other way for those heading into Las Vegas..

In the motel, when Shelly confronts Natalie, the camera and its operator are reflected in the upper right-hand corner of the mirror.

As the extras turn from the payout window after Bernie has fallen in love and his luck reverses from negative to positive, the dolly track can be seen on the floor and the actors are very consciously stepping between the rungs and looking down at the floor so they don't trip.

In the rooftop "Las Vegas" scene, the green lights of the Silver Legacy in Reno are plainly visible.

When Bernie plays craps, he is shown placing two stacks of chips side-by-side on the pass line. This is incorrect - a player's entire bet must be placed in one vertical stack. AFTER a point is established, a player make "take the odds" by placing a second stack of chips BEHIND the original pass line bet. A second stack of chips on the pass line next to the player's bet would be assumed by the crew to be a toke - a bet for the dealers.
