A worthy end to a beloved series that keeps the camera on its characters

This is an awesome film, and a worthy and fitting end to an anime (based on a manga) beloved by many.

When the television series ended, it left its audiences a nifty little cliffhanger, and set things up well for this film while still managing to tie things up some. I won't lie to you. This movie is chiefly about the love story between Sakura and Syaoran.

But what makes this film such a bona fide success is that while it keeps the focus on the main characters, it isn't afraid to give minor characters their due. For example, Kero-chan steals a lot of the scenes and fits into the story perfectly as comedy relief without seeming tacked on in the least.

Director Morio Asaka and screen-writer Nanase Okawa know their characters. The dialogue never sells out or ceases to be fresh. Everyone is perfectly in character, and while this leads to a certain degree of predictability, it also brings smiles to the faces of fans who understand how much respect the material brings to their characters.

And as I said in my review for the first movie, there is something for every anime fan here. While those new to CCS fandom will probably be wary of this film being nothing but tying up loose ends left by the end of the 70-episode television series, they'd only be half right. While it ties up a lot of loose ends, it manages to hold its own as a film and capture the viewer's attention.

For fans who haven't seen this or want to enjoy it in the best possible way, I suggest shelling in the extra cash to buy the Special Edition CCS Movie 2: The Sealed Card DVD. Not only does it come with a see-through plastic flat thingy (I don't know what it's called!), inside the case you'll find "Tomoyo's Photo Album", a small booklet containing select CLAMP art from this movie. Also, you have the option to listen to the movie in English (tolerable) or with the original Japanese voices with subtitles (my choice).

But what makes this DVD worth the price of admission is the hidden Kero-chan Video Extra (search for it in the Extras Menu).

To fans, this movie is the Holy Grail. Every scene is not only necessary, but perfectly tuned to fit the rest of the film. While many fans will complain that the movie ends quickly, well, that's what fan fiction is for. ^_^

Cute love story between Sakura and Syaoran

This is next episode from the tv series end. I'm now not disappointed again with watching this movie, because there is story between Syaoran and Sakura. Sakura is still shy as usual to said that she love Syaoran to him. And Lee-kun is act gentle for a little boy. They had pure heart as children and that what makes me like this movie.

But the ending is too simple and the story is too short not like Cardcaptor Sakura the first movie. And the ending is too simple, they don't explained how if Sakura and Syaoran become lover? The ending song is good.

Great movie based on a great series

This is the second movie of the CCS series and possibly the last, but hey, it ended beautifully. I never saw the first one, but this one, whoa, is great, and touching. Sure it is from CLAMP, and it seems too cute and disturbing, but still, you gotta love this. After the last episode Li goes back to Hong Kong, but comes back for a vacation, and in time for the Nadesico Festival. And it seems to be a happy reunion, and all looks well, as Sakura may be able to answer back to Li, but there always seem to be something in the way, is it another card? It looks like it is, and what's a girl to do? Capture it. But this seems to be a very tricky card unlike the rest. Overall great animation compared to the series, great songs, especially the one in the middle when everyone is getting ready for the festival. And really love the ending song by Chaka, Tomorrow's Melody, I think that's what it's called, forgive me if it's the wrong title. But overall very good, good enough that even the kids could watch, not much of that supposed "gay" or "lesbian" stuff that most guys in the US say there is, and not very much violence at all, and not very disturbing as an anime fan might think there is, since this is a CLAMP title. And you'll find the ending very touching and nice. Really cute, not the sickening cute. Recommended to fans of the series, and to kids and adults alike, and to non-anime fans who don't know anime yet, forget Naruto or Ragnarok.

Magical and very romantic for two

When I bought this movie at Suncoast, I can't believe Sakura has captured and converted the clow cards into Sakura Cards. Now Sakura has to face her biggest challenge. And how is Sakura going to tell Sharoran that she loves him? All the questions will be answered when you see this movie. My favorite characters in this movie are Sakura,Yui, and Keroberos. The reason why I like Sakura, is that she got to be a princess in a play and her costume was very beautiful. What I also found out that about this movie is that voice actor Michael McConnohie (famous for Transformers and Vampire Hunter D), also did the voice of Sakura's Dad. The movie also features the English voices of Steve Bloch , Steven Blum , Johnny Yong Bosch , Wendee Lee ,Sherry Lynn , Julie Maddalena ,Mona Marshall ,Dorothy Melendrez , Michelle Ruff,(famous for Chobits,Hand Maid May,and others) Philece Sampler , Lia Sargent ,Joshua Seth, Steve Staley, Kirk Thornton,Kari Wahlgren,Dave Wittenberg, Someday, I will get this movie autographed by Michael McConnohie because of his talents as a voice actor. So,in closing to this review,if you like the series, this is the #1 DVD motion picture to add to your collection. You will see what I mean.
