Ghostbite

This is horrid. HORRID HORRID HORRID. My best friend worked on this movie. Sketches he made ended up becoming the basis of the monster in this film. While they looked good on paper, it ended up being awful on film. Francis Bosson can be compared to Ed Wood, although he will never gain Mr. Wood's cult status. This movie was incomplete due to "problems" and stock footage and video footage was used to complete it. Ed Wood's worst is better than this. I had even read a copy of the script. It's actually very good. It could have been a gothic/dark scary horror film or even similar to something such as BLADE or THE CROW had it been in capable hands.

As a fan of low budget horror, I've obviousely seen some poor movies in my time. This ranks as one of the worst.

Filmed in Dallas, this story (of sorts) follows a police officer who is investigating crimes that end up being the doing of a monster who returns from the dead every few years or so.

HOrrible stock footage that makes no sense whatsoever is inserted here and there (footage of birds flying and other cutscenes from national geographic videos I suppose). I suppose it's added simply to extend the running time of the movie.

Do not waste your time on this no matter what's in it for you. The people that gave this movie a ten on the rating here obviousely worked on it and still have some sort of emotional investment in it.

So I was among the less than ten people to see its opening in Fort Worth, TX, and though I should perhaps apologize for the outbursts of myself and the rest of the Rocky Horror cast present, this movies is much better with screamers. Basically its great to see with a group of quick witted friends. I'm looking to buy a copy (though it will sit on the shelf right next to Razor Blade Smile). Its pretty awful, but I heard the producers forced it to be lengthened out to 90 minutes though only 70 something minutes were shot. So the writing is not bad nor the direction (that I remember). The acting IS awful. Rocky Balboa is a detective? But remember when you're in a jam, what can beat a dancing grandpa?
