Avis à la une
Links Awakening is in a strange spot, being a sequel for the highly acclaimed Link to the Past but on much weaker hardware. The limitations of the Gameboy are the reason this game is one of the most creative Zelda games but it also makes for some really annoying things that wouldn't be a problem on any other platform. For example the lack of buttons means you'll be constantly pausing the game to switch your equipment, which can take you away from the action.
That being said this game is really great! The world is much more compact and dense with stuff to do and explore, compared to the much vaster Hyrule of a Link to the Past. The characters are fun and you really get attached to some. The dungeons are excellent and their bosses really tough in some cases.
This is the type of game that isn't afraid to get weird. Like, really weird. The main objective of the game is waking up a giant sleeping fish in a pink egg on top of a mountain with music. There are straight up Mario enemies like Goombas and Piranha plants. There's a village with talking animals. Despite the bizarre nature of Links awakening, it brings with it one of the most interesting Zelda narratives and one of the most heartbreaking ones.
Easily my favorite Gameboy game, and so far my favorite 2d Zelda game. A true classic that shouldn't be overlooked just because of the weak console it is on.

playing this game is like the equivalent of reading a very long and interesting novel. you can place your bookmark and come back to it any time you want (which will usually be a lot!). it really is just like going on one big long adventure. and again, just like a book, you quickly forget about everything after several months, once you have completed the game (which is actually quite hard). so you can come back and do it all again!
they got the difficulty just right. and you've got lots of items and weapons to collect and choose from. the graphics are really well rounded. in fact, i would say for a game boy the graphics are excellent. everything looks so cute. the musical score is amazing. the great tune, as you set off across the plains, is really stirring.
this is my favourite game ever. i really don't know what else to say, apart from you can get this game and a colour game boy for a couple of quid nowadays. so you really won't regret it

Very big adventure game on a small hand-held system, which is great, because your hands will be glued to the hand-held for some couple of days at a time. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening brings you so much to your hands. Starting from the beginning of the story when Link's boat crashed, you must work your way up to finding a sword and go out on a long adventure.
I remember when a friend from High School introduced this game to me. The day I played Zelda on Game Boy, I had to buy new batteries every other day, refusing to put the Game Boy aside for once. The Legend of Zelda on Game Boy was one fun experience I will never forget.
Gameplay- 8/10 Sound- 10/10; Those lovely melodies will make you remember!!! Funfactor- 9/10

This is yet another of Shigeru Miyamoto's Masterpieces! I thought this game would be really bad and short because it was released for the Gameboy. I was wrong, the amount of difficulty and depth this game possesses is truly amazing! I can't wait for the next Zelda game!
Link has defeated Ganon (again!) and sets off for an adventure. His ship is caught in a deadly storm, which destroys the ship (possibly his entire crew as well) and leaves him on an island inhabited by strange people, friendly animals, and evil monsters.
As Link, you must set out to wake the Wind Fish, who is the only creature who can set you free of the island. To wake the Wind Fish, you must gather the eight instruments of the sirens, which are scattered about Koholint Island.
There are many puzzles in this game, and they don't frustrate you as bad as other games (like Myst and Riven). This game consists of lots of action and adventure and a great plot and storyline. The characters are even kind of realistic in their actions, and the music is actually quite good (just imagine it orchestrated).
If you are a fan of the Zelda series or even action adventure games, this one is a must have. It follows the Zelda storylines well and fits in with the rest of the games, even though it takes place in a land totally different from Hyrule.
