The latter is effectively portrayed by late '70s William Higgins discovery Derrick Stanton (CLASS OF '84) making a more than welcome comeback bid as does the impressively endowed Steve York, unforgettable in the opening scene to Higgins' BOYS OF SAN FRANCISCO. Douglas paves the way for the future of homo hardcore by combining the best of the newer talent with Golden Age survivors and gets great acting performances from just about everyone involved. Kurt Young is a particular standout in the lead and there's an awesome non-sex role by longtime adult actress Sharon Kane - an industry mainstay since the late '70s - as his seemingly liberal yet deeply frustrated mother. Her response to learning about her son's sexual inclination may be the best bit of acting you'll ever see in a porno pic. Every sex sequence is highlighted by subtle little touches that will convince you that you're watching men making love rather than 'just' having mind-blowing sex. Production is fine, with a slight reservation on the sound quality at times.
