Casting the role of the doctor was hard. Nargis,Waheeda Rehman,Nutan all turned down the doctor's role. Fearing that the role was not working out, the producer turned it into a male doctor and offered it to Dilip Kumar. He declined the offer. Finally Aruna Irani agreed and role was turned back into a female doctor.
