Avis à la une
The movie is very awesome and really humerous and has a good story too.
A war between laughter and comedy, A master piece from a master actor
One of the best Malayalam films ever! Its about how Vijayan and Dasan played by Mohanlal and Sreenivasan survive all odds to earn a decent living. It has some of the most remembered scenes in Mal movies like the scene with Gafoor. You will never get tired of this "for the masses film" where disasters that happen to middle class average people are portrayed with humor and how they finally overcome all odds. Mohanlal and Sreenivasan are outrageous laugh riot where Srinivasan has a inferiority complex about his dark, short PDC. Mohanlal hides his complex in a seemingly superiority complex of being tall, handsome and BCOM-first class. Excellent!

Brief Review -
A Fun Riot with Social Relevance. Perhaps, Malayalam Cinema's Best satirical by the time. When i read that Bollywood movie 'Bhagam Bhaag' was an adaption of this, i wasn't much interested. That Priyadarshan's comedy was a mix biriyani of many films and except for slapstick comedy powered by lead trio in the film (supporting cast too), it doesn't offer anything else. Well, it's clear for me now that Bhagam Bhag just took one idea from Nadodikkattu and nothing else is similar. Though, the fact remains still that Bhagam Bhaag similarly stole other ideas from other films to create its storyline. Anyway, Nodadikkattu is a fun riot in great manners, yes for 80s it was too much. After losing their jobs in Kerala, Dasan and Vijayan decide to migrate to the Middle East. But they end up in Tamil Nadu where they are mistaken as two CID officers by a group of smugglers. The film not only makes you laugh for the sake of entertainment but also takes a note of socially relevant topics like unemployment, poverty, corruption and rotten politics. There is nothing in the film that can be hated and even though it comes with a slight touch of cinematic liberty, it still manages to look real. Every time that misidentified CID officers scenes came, i couldn't stop praising the writer for creating such fantastic yet hilarious situations. The humour could have been better but that's not a big issue as it we already had too much to carry for a satire of 80s. Bollywood had couple of films in early 80s and even they lacked the same thing but like i said it's about bringing it first than not bringing at all. Mohanlal, Sreenivasan and Thikanancs trio is perfect in their roles, Shobana looks sweet, writing is absolutely funny, screenplay is little slow in the middle but rest no issues and direction of Sathyan Anthikad is brilliant. Overall, A sweet film with a bitter subject yet it is yummy.

There will never be any other movie like Nadodikattu. Because, it is entertains, enthralls & intrigues with total determination. The story, plot, cinematography, slapstick, humor and everything is top notch.
Mohanlal & Srinivasan's evergreen duet as suckers who go onto become CID agents, thanks to their fates, are the characters that will blow your mind. The character depth is immense. Their exploits with Thilakan and other cast is terrific. How a serious crime movie churns out humor in every single scene of its running time is sheer mastery. A salute to the creators of this epic movie.
BOTTOM LINE: Watch the trilogy for non-stop enjoyment. Laughter guaranteed.
Can be watched with a typical Indian family? YES
No anti-social elements involved. Crime is showcased, but is harmless.
