Avis à la une
I love slasher, I'm very forgiving of slashers, but I can't remember when I've seen one with some many lapses of logic before.
This is definitely a post-Scream slasher. Little blood, no gore, no boobs. The directing and cinematography was fine. Some of the acting was okay, some was pretty bad. The script was really bad. The dialog was inane but more importantly so much just didn't work logically.
But it did have a really outrageously stupid ending. If there is any value here at all it is for cheesiness. If you're looking for a good slasher then I would suggest looking elsewhere. If you're looking for a mildly cheesy slasher this might work.

There's nothing really wrong with this movie. The characters and acting is relatively good for a "B" horror movie. A few of the actors seemed miscast however. it is well filmed and doesn't look like a low-low budget movie.
The only thing is...for some reason it doesn't come together very well. It's just quite boring even for a Slasher movie. It also lasts about 10 minutes too long near the end. Another thing is that although it tries to make a twist out of the ending, i could see it coming a mile away.

Well, I'm too big a fan of slasher movies to be a fair judge of this one: is totally derivative, without any real new ideas, but it is also very well photographed, with a really good cast for a B-movie, with a lot of blonds really nice to look at - and this is always a big plus in my criteria for a judgment - and enough action and good lines to keep watching it till the end. It is a total rehash of Scream, with a touch of Cut and of the Italian giallo Deliria (aka Stagefright): all those movies were better - far better - than this one, but Scared is still a movie that you want to watch if you are a slasher movies fan. The only negative mark that you may note is that there are no nudities at all: come on guys!! This is a slasher!! We wants blood and T&A and in both these departments this movie sucks! Be aware of this and if you don't care you'll find that watching Scared is not a total waste of time.
The name of this movie was "Cut Throat" when I saw it. It is just bad. I've seen some bad movies and this one is in the top 10 all time worst. Bad acting, bad story, bad everything. If you like bad movies, then watch this. You and your friends will have a great time tearing this garbage apart. This movie was a waste of money for whoever put up the dough to make it.
Scared (Cut Throat) isn't a bad movie. It just isn't a great movie. I thought it was a decent film. It doesn't seem to be a very low budget production. The acting was adequate, nothing special but certainly not bad. You do have moments of tension and suspense as the body count rises and the blood splatters, although it may not be up to the expectations of die hard slasher movie fans. The movie quickly becomes a bit of a mystery as you try to figure out "who done it". A little twist is thrown in near the end and a final little twist at the very end. It's an OK movie and I enjoyed watching it but that's it. It was just OK. It's not going to be one of the more memorable thrillers I've seen. Certainly worth a look but it shouldn't be up in your must see list.

- AnecdotesThe movie was acquired by Charles Band at the behest of Blockbuster Video, a long time supporter of Band during the Full Moon Pictures era, due to the late '90s resurgence of the slasher horror subgenre, thanks to Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer. With the help of an uncredited Tempe Entertainment, Band produced Bleed and acquired Keith Walley's Scared, renaming it Cut Throat.
