    Why

Enjoyable. Fast-paced, especially at the beginning, will grip you. This is good. Story is no-nonsense, especially at the beginning, it doesn't wait for you, you have to hurry to catch up. This is as it should be.

Lowe is OK in his role, so are the others, Hatcher is very very good. Cox is a real treat.

But these are artists one assumes trying to make a bit of a comeback. There are so many movies like this, made for TV, and they all go the same way - why?

For there is little wrong with the directing, or the editing, or the music, or the special effects, or the acting.

It's always the screenplay. It's always the screenplay which fades, perhaps just a bit, just enough to make the movie dip down in your esteem beneath the "this is great" level - just enough so that said actors, directors, editors etc. never get the second chance they work so hard for.

But see this one. Made for TV rarely gets better.

    Some what good, maybe

All in all it was a good movie, Teri Hatcher turns from computer geek to a tough broad. Didn't see much of Rob Lowe, but that was his role in the film. The are two things though, It looks like it was made for cable, cause throughout the movie some profanity was dubbed out, and second In the "Bathroom" scene, I was wondering where she got the handgun? I mean she said she was afraid and didn't know how to use one. She didn't have it in the bag she brought, and it wasn't in the truck where she took the Rifle. So I guess it was overlooked. So maybe someday will see it on cable or in our local video stores.

Why was this film even made

Admittedly I've seen a lot of bad films in my time but this has to be one of the worst films I've ever seen. First of all the plot is really ridiculous and there is no apparent beginning and the ending isn't all that great either. The fact that there is no beginning proves that the director obviously thought it would be a good idea to push the viewer into the middle of the action to get the instant involvement but it only serves to confuse and annoy. Secondly the plot is way too complicated for its own good. The story has a lot of twists and turns and they are obviously there to keep the audience guessing as to what might happen next. However, again I must say that it only succeeds in confusing and annoying the viewer. People really aren't looking for a really deep, complicated storyline in a TV-action movie. Now as for the actors they are generally really bad. Teri Hatcher is completely uninteresting and sucks as a mother. I'd be really sad to have her as my mother. Rob Lowe who is actually a decent actor but he does some of the worst acting throughout his entire career. Trevor Blumas... well Trevor Blumas sucks. Not at a single time is he believable. He sucks throughout the entire movie.

All in all a really poor effort 2 out of 10

Don't Think! Shut Down Your Brain! And Enjoy Teri Hatcher

The great attraction of this DVD certainly is the name of Teri Hatcher. I decided to watch this movie, and I do not know what the writer has in his head while writing such screenplay. The story is so unbelievable and absurd that becomes funny, a comedy full of action. I decided to shut down my brain, do not think in the countless flaws in the script and enjoy the still very beautiful and sexy Teri Hatcher, and in the end I surprisingly had a good time. "Jane Doe" is totally forgettable and laughable, but entertains. My vote is six.

Title (Brazil): "Jane Doe – Corrida Contra Morte" ("Jane Doe – Running Against Death")
    38-Foot

Made-for-tv claptrap; makes the commercials look good!

A mulligan stew, inherently of low expectations: throbbing music; lots and lots of different locations, sometimes interesting but fleeting; abundant gun play; a plethora of characters (more than indicated by IMDB); wild camera angles, till they tire of them; deceit and treachery all over, with vaporizing loyalties; super high-tech weapons; and something about intelligence agencies, computers, encrypted passwords, and critical databases doctored by the good (???) guys for sale by the bad guys to unseen other bad guys of murky pedigree. At the end, the only true good guys stand alone.

Teri Hatcher has the lion's share of acting duty. Sorry girls, there's not as much of Rob Lowe as you'd expect from his star status: just enough to preserve his star billing but not enough to break the budget or really exercise his talent.

Fine production values and good acting. BUT: why, oh why, can't they spend less on frills and more of the budget on a decent, respectable script; shouldn't that ALWAYS be the first priority?

By the way, we never learn how Jane Doe (Teri Hatcher) came by her legal name, nor what that has to do with anything.
