Great show

One of the best TV shows to be done in Mexico, especially during the 80's. I remember watching it as a kid and being truly frightened by most episodes. It really deserves a DVD release if not as a whole(it did lasted for a long time after all) as a 'best of', certainly a lot more than the crap soaps Televisa is putting out on DVD now a days. I did had a chance recently to check it out again as I acquired a few DVDrs of original recordings(around 30 episodes) and its pretty much as I remembered it, some were truly frightening and well done, some where deliberately campy and humorous, some not so deliberate yet it was just fun to see how they fumbled the ball with them... However they all shared one thing(besides La Dama De Negro who appears on each episode) which was freedom to experiment, it just seems weird that the company who's soap operas are all carbon copy's from each other would allow this amount of freedom to the authors of each story, it really didn't followed a guideline of what they could do, some stories are downright surrealist, others are child minded, others are just slasher like violent... Just a series of great mini movies(each ep runs at 20 min).

Truly frightening t.v. series from Mèxico.

Now, this was a great show. Unlike other t.v. series from Mèxico in the 80's, "La Hora Marcada" had a big budget, excellent directors (Del Toro, Cuaròn), good actors, and best of all, a great script for every episode.

The episodes were truly frightening and were even better than most Horror movies from Mèxico.

I really hope someone will be intelligent enough to put this on DVD. Believe me, many people will buy it because it's one of the best shows on Mexican t.v. ever.

If you catch it on re runs, please watch it you won't regret it. "La Hora Marcada" is not only for horror fans, it's for everyone that appreciates quality t.v. series.

Scary As Hell

We all know, of course, that fear doesn't really on a guy with a knife chasing some girl, nor in a monster lurking and popping every now and then. Fear resides in the unknown.

When I was a kid, Dad always kept me watching horror movies and I became a great fan of terror and horror. This T.V. series in particular (being 11 years old at that time) catch me in every way. The stories portrayed by the actors were so rich that you almost believe those things really happen to them. The stories, photography, music everything was perfect.

I do really recommend to see this. Here in Mexico it's out on DVD. 8 episodes of 30 minutes each. If you can buy a copy of this DVD, please do so.

"La Hora Marcada" it's a treasure all Mexicans must spread to other people.

Definitely a must-see.

Hora Marcada, the best sci-fi TV series filmed in Mexico

I totally agree, I wish I could buy these DVD's if they were available. I remember growing up with Hora Marcada and being scared in a freakish way each week. Excellent show, should be brought back today. Cuaron moved on to Hollywood as did Del Toro but for quality TV look no further than this show, each week super good looking soap opera and stage actors came together in this show and let go of any inhibitions they may have had and completely showed a different, better side of themselves, the part that proved they were Good Actors and not just hunks and pretty faces. Check out Cuaron's other films, Amores Perros, I think it is called Love is a Bitch in English and 21 Grams. As well as Del Toro's Cronos and The Devil's Backbone. Chau!
