Mehyô

A film with a weak start and an even weaker ending. There was no real story, no proper character development, and no clear purpose. It was hard to tell whether this was meant to be a movie or just an adult film. Meaningless and aimless events kept happening, leading nowhere. The pacing was painfully slow and utterly boring, with no sense of excitement or engagement. The dialogue was shallow, the acting was weak, and the direction felt lost. Even the soundtrack did nothing to enhance the experience-it only made it more dull.

In the end, there was nothing redeeming about this film that made it worth watching. A lifeless and tedious movie that I wouldn't recommend to anyone. 2/10.

This is quite possibly the most disturbing movie that I've watched. I can't figure out what was the point of it.

It rather is the corrupt tale of a murder mystery somewhat but the deaths are rather tame and hidden. About an innocent sister who goes to stay with her "eccentric" and very wealthy brother in his large mansion only to discover secrets she was unaware of.

Simply by reading the premise, and seeing the cover we could get a sense at the type of film it would lead to. Filled with several explicit scenes with the lead Yuko (who was apparently only 18) showing a lot of skin through out.

There are no real twists as things play out as we would expect. The brother has feelings for the sister and she inevitably caves in to him considering she's alone. We know it's coming we just wait to see how it unfolds.

The real climax and rather disturbing scene revolves around three of the brother's henchmen/ security guard members being told by the brother's wife to have their way with the sister. As things unfold, we see that the brother was behind a see through one-way mirror in another room watching her get raped by three men. Suddenly he puts down his pants and does his business. Of course the wife later comes in and noticed him. The scene of course started as rape then casually seemed to turn more consensual with the sister enjoying herself.

There are metaphors with butterflies and paintings throughout. And of course within the final scene, we get quite a lengthy and well shot explicit scene of the siblings, which started with the sister coming back fully nude entering the brother's studio this leading to the scene though first with him painting her.

The very ending was rather disappointing with the brother's wife sneaking up behind them delivering some sort of injection to her husband then to herself, which we aren't sure why. If we are lead to believe it was poisonous and it killed him or simply temporarily dazed him.

Overall it's quite a disturbing film of course dealing with the subject matter and there are several explicit scenes. Nothing too gory but it's a decent watch, ant times boring and repetitive but since it's rather short in run time, it's worthwhile. The visuals of the paintings, the house and scenery are quite nice.
