Four-time Emmy nominee Marcia Gay Harden, most recently of CBS’ So Help Me Todd, has boarded Season 2 of Fox’s Murder in a Small Town in the series regular role of Mayor Christie Holman, our sister site Variety reports.

Scottish actor David McCallum, known for his role as a secret agent in the 1960s spy drama ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E.’ has passed away at the age of 90.

The actor is said to have peacefully departed this morning due to natural causes at New York Presbyterian Hospital, with family members by his side. The previously scheduled 20th anniversary NCIS marathon will now feature an ‘In Memoriam’ card in his honour.

The Glasgow-born McCallum was the last remaining original cast member on CBS’ ‘NCIS’ portraying the eccentric but efficient Chief Medical Examiner Donald ‘Ducky’ Mallard.

One tribute came in via social media from the NCIS account “We will miss his warmth and endearing sense of humour that lit up any room or soundstage he stepped onto,”

“David was a gifted actor and author, and beloved by many around the world,” the NCIS tribute said.

Marcia Gay Harden was up against some stiff competition in 2001, the year she won the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for “Pollock.” In her winning turn as painter Lee Krasner, Harden had to contend with Judi Dench for “Chocolat,” Kate Hudson and Frances McDormand for “Almost Famous,” and Julie Walters for “Billy Elliot.” In a new interview with Vulture, Harden implies there was one nominee who wasn’t so happy over her surprise win that night.

“It’s new blood. It just felt great,” she said of the unexpected win. “And by the way, I felt the girls were really happy for me as well. There was one I will not mention — but it wasn’t Kate — who seemingly wasn’t so happy.”

When pressed further by writer Matt Jacobs, Harden ruled out Julie Walters, and said “I’m friends with Frances McDormand. There you go,” leaving only Judi Dench as the only possibility.

Netflix has given a 10-episode straight-to-series order to Hit and Run, an espionage thriller drama from Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff, creators of the praised Netflix series Fauda, and Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin, creators of the Amazon comedy Z: The Beginning of Everything.

Created and written by Issacharoff, Raz, Prestwich and Yorkin, Hit and Run centers on a happily married man whose life is turned upside down when his wife is killed in a mysterious hit and run accident.

Issacharoff, Raz, Prestwich and Yorkin executive produce with Peter Principato, Itay Reiss and Kimberlin Belloni of Artists First and David Hoberman, Todd Lieberman and Laurie Zaks of Mandeville Films.

This marks the second series order in two months for Mandeville Films, which also is behind the new ABC drama series The Fix. Hit and Run falls outside of the company’s deal at ABC Studios.

Exclusive: Richard Dreyfuss has joined the TBS comedy pilot Your Family Or Mine, from Greg Malins, Sony Pictures TV and Fanfare. Based on an Israeli format, the show centers on Oliver and Kelli, who are living proof of the adage “When you marry someone, you don’t just marry them, you marry their whole family.” It is a family comedy with an unusual structure — each episode focuses on a different side of the family: one week featuring the couple dealing with Kelli’s family, the next spent with Oliver’s. Dreyfuss, repped by Apa and The Schiff Co., will play Ricky, Oliver’s father, opposite JoBeth Williams’ Louis. AMC, Fox TV Studios and The Killing developer/executive producer Veena Sud are putting the team back together in anticipation of a formal green light for a third season of the mystery series to air on AMC and Netflix. Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin, who served as co-executive producers in the first and second season, are expected to return as executive producers, and have started working with Sud on stories for Season 3. Fox TV Studios already has the cast — including breakout stars Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman — locked in for Season 3, which made a resurrection of the series, cancelled by AMC in July, an easier proposition. The show has been talking to key behind-the-scene auspices, including Prestwich and Yorkin, to return, as Season 3 is eying a February production start. A quartet of TV casting news is coming your way, beginning with a report that Amy Madigan — who recently appeared on Grey’s Anatomy and Law & Order — has been cast in a pivotal role on Fringe. According to EW, the actress will play Olivia Dunham’s mother in at least four episodes beginning with the third season premiere this fall. When the role was being cast, Olivia’s mother was described as lovely and completely devoted to her daughter. The real question is whether she and Olivia will meet in the real world or in the crazy alternate universe.

Showtime announced today that Richard Dreyfuss (Mr. Holland’s Opus) will guest star in at least four episodes of Weeds, which returns Aug. 16. Dreyfuss will play an unexpected character from Nancy Botwin’s (Mary-Louise Parker) past. The role marks a reunion of sorts for Dreyfuss and Showtime: He last appeared as Alexander Haig in the pay network’s The Day Reagan Was Shot.

In 2001, Dreyfuss starred in the CBS drama The Education of Max Bickford. Six years later, he appeared in the Sci-Fi original miniseries Tin Man.

After high school and a brief try at college, Michael Mosley packed up and moved to Boston with a friend. "We were in and out of youth hostels -- when we weren't sleeping in our car," laughs Mosley. Eventually he landed in New York's Academy of Dramatic Arts, which snowballed into small roles on series "The Education of Max Bickford" and "Kidnapped" and in the movie "Swimmers."

But it wasn't until Mosley's fiancee Anna Camp was cast as Sarah Newlin on "True Blood" that he finally made the trek out west to California and landed the role of Drew Suffin on "Scrubs."
