Sulakshna Pandit was busy building a career as a singer. She insisted she sing all her songs in the film herself. But a phone call from Lata Mangeshkar changed things. Lata told Sulakshna that if she insisted on singing all the songs herself, she would be out of the film ! Sulakshna felt there was a monopoly in playback singing. Lata Mageshkar and Asha Bhosle were not allowing any other female singers to get work.
