The anonymous makers of PEEK FREAK exploit the obvious fact that the audience for porn is made up of voyeurs. Sure, there might be a film buff or two sneaking in (I plead guilty), but film buffs are card-carrying voyeurs too.

Our peeping tom hero, who resembles Ron Howard as actor in the '70s (AMERICAN GRAFFITI, EAT MY DUST era), spends the film going from window to window, watching people have sex. Twist is that he fantasizes himself suddenly replacing the male in the sex act, and actually getting some himself! This is more or less the hardcore porn era's answer to the vicarious thrills of the IMMORAL MR. TEAS style voyeuristic films of a decade before.

First time this happens, the male sex partner's face is cleverly obscured from view, making the magical transition for (let's call him) "Ronny" work. It was kind of interesting that "Ronny" is jolted back to reality after he ejaculates. Perhaps the creeps who will soon make a XXX satire of INCEPTION (my shooting title suggestion would be INSERTION) can use this motif, in place of Edith Piaf singing or somebody getting killed in a dream as their "shock" cue: Axel Braun take a memo.

Other than that, the anonymous makers of this film from Something Weird's Dragon Art Theatre series Vol. 24 deliver strictly routine porn footage.

Highlight has to be perky Sandy Dempsey, always stimulating in sexploitation mode. Sex scenes here are presented with or without music, typical of the slapdash, "let's get this baby over with and delivered" approach. Film ends arbitrarily in the middle of a blow job, possibly a defect of the print SWV used, or perhaps carelessness on the part of the genius who directed this junk.
