Absolutely horrible

There are three reasons to not see this movie: 1. It stinks. It's thoroughly silly and stupid. The acting is totally worthless, and the script is almost as exciting as drying paint. 2. It's supposed to be a movie for youths, but the moviemakers seem to think very low about young people while making a movie like this. Do they think that we totally lack intelligence? 3. There are so many other swedish moviemakers that you should support instead of these. Please don't encourage these kinds of movies.

I can't even tell people to go see this for a good laugh - it's too bad for that. No one should punish him-/herself through this.

Where's the festival-feeling?

I can sum this movie up pretty good in one sentence: "Overall bad acting, extremly dull story and absolutely no festival precence." The only reason I would want to see a movie about a festival is the memories and stuff you have yourself (you can probably figure out that a movie called "Festival" starring Ebba Hultkvist isn't exactly going to be Dr Strangelove, so I saw it basically because I like festivals). It would have been better if someone who had been to a festival had something to do with the film, it would probably make it a bit realistic. Instead, we're stuck with this s**t. Nope, this movie is not worth it's cool name, that's why me and my friends will record the sequel, "Festival 2" in Roskilde this summer. It will beat this one by far, at least if your into real festivals. Rock on.´

"Festival" get's 2 out of 10

A mediocre youth film

This film lacks the depth of Swedish films, and feels American rather than European almost throughout. Except for the apparent fact that a beauty like Ebba Hultkvist only exists in Sweden :-) The younger you are, the more you would enjoy this film. I haven't seen many festival films, and I'm still at the age to go to a festival of that nature so I did fancy watching the film, and I certainly don't think it deserves a rating of 4 although most people seem to think that way. I gave it a 7/10.

There are some scenes that are extremely exaggerated, especially the scene with Lina stealing her mom's car and driving into the crowd. A teen girl wouldn't drive the car so brutally. And the scene with the "easy" girl running into the arms of Lina's boyfriend for instant sex. That just doesn't happen in real life. Or if anyone knows a girl like that, you know how to reach me :-)

This film made me feel in a way similar to how I feel with the Tsatsiki series. As a keen follower of the Swedish cinema, I think this one does not really fit right into the Swedish film phenomenon. It's not a bad one, but just an average one. I could put in the same "class" as 99% of the movies made in Hollywood.

If you guys fancy films revolving around teens/young people, and fancy more depth, I recommend Panna Nikt. Not as "enchanting" as this one, but better than this one by all means. I recommend this movie only to those in their early 20's and younger.
