Kilukkam was the first Malayalam film to cross 5 crore mark at the box office and the first to complete 100 days theatrical run in 10 releasing centers.
It became the highest-grossing Malayalam film in history.
Kilukkam completed 365 days theatrical run in Kerala.
Jagadish, who appears in a minor role originally had a substantial role in the film as a tourist photographer. Scenes featuring his rivalry with fellow photographer Nischal was deleted from the final cut to reduce the film's duration.
