Avis à la une
A handful of diamonds are lost in a plane crash that belong to a middle east revolutionary group. A bunch of people try to recover the gems from the underwater wreck and subsequently fight for the possession of the precious stones.
No script, bad acting (surprisingly including Barbara Bouchet), no rhytm, no nothing. Bad eighties score, no sets, no set pieces, no costumes. Unbelievably badly staged plane crash with a model plane.
Way too boring to be entertaining.
Released on video in Finland in the eighties.
Le saviez-vous
- AnecdotesEmel Tümer was to co-star with Barbara Bouchet, but gave up the role when the shooting was about to begin, and was replaced by Oya Demir.
- GaffesThe pre-credits segment is a formula 1 car race, and a voice over narration stating "Geneva welcomes you to the International Grand Prix of Switzerland", repeated in French, Italian and German. However, this race was last held in 1982 (actually in French soil, near the border).
- Versions alternativesThe film has two versions: (1) Beklenmeyen Randevu - Belali elmaslar (TR 1978-1982 92min) by Kunt Tulgar, with Turkish dialogue; (2) Diamanti che scottano (CH 1982-1985 83min) by Sergio Bergonzelli, with English dialogue. The second version cut off a large part of the original and added new scenes, shot in Geneva, the Jura mountain range in the French frontier, and in Turkey, with European credits only. The second version was intended for distribution in the international market, but ended up with limited VHS editions Italy (Diamanti insanguinati, Magic Video, 87min), Germany (rated 16, 75min), and Greece (83min).
