I had so much fun with this soap opera, I saw it twice and I laughed the second time just as much as the 1st time. There is so much kindness among each family member. Lots of romance. My husband watched it with me. This was our time together, My husband enjoy it too he didn't miss a night,, it has enough entertainment for both gender, beautiful women in string bikinis, great body. Men who are not only good looking, have great body but are very sensitive. If by any chance we were going to be miss it, which we did everything we could to be laying in our bed at 10:00 pm to watch it, we would tape it. It was a wonderful experience. we enjoy Spanish soap opera but it's was always the same thing, the bad person, the virgin girl who everybody hates, a lot of suffering throughout the whole soap opera and at the end the leading man stays with the leading lady, like if we didn't know that was going to happen. bad people die, etc, etc... watch it, you'll love it....
Who said that a soap-opera must be dramatic? In this Brasilian soap, one can not stop laughing all the way!! Good script, good acting and... good girls. It's the confirmation of the new blood of the Brasilian actors and i think that we will hear soon about Mariana Ximenes,Ângelo Paes Leme, Danielle Winits and Nívea Steinmann. Watch out the nonsense jokes of characters like dona Pierina(played by veteran Nair Bello) and Nikos Karabastos( played by the Brazilian living-legend Lima Duarte).Truly unmissable!!
I saw this soap opera twice, the first time it was aired and then the rerun, I could see it again, it was just that funny! First I loved the cast and the characters, then the story, then I cried, then I laughed, I almost went crazy... trying to figure it out when the behavior of some people just didn't make sense, but for the story's sake, some things needed not to have a full explanation... It was fun, though. I love soap operas with a huge amount of characters, they will keep the story always fresh, the only problem is, when you see it dubbed, you get so used to this people's voices that when you see the same actors again in a different soap, with different voice overs, you feel kinda weird...
I discovered this series by accident one day the first time it was aired. I was intrigued by the "native tribe" I was seeing. Though I consider myself to be fluent in Spanish (from Honduras), I think the series was dubbed in Venezuelan Spanish, which I have found to be virtually unintelligible to a Central American speaker.
But I watched it every day and came to understand much of the plot. I have never seen a series at times so ribald, so ridiculously funny, and so dedicated to showing off near-naked male bodies! The near-nudity was at times gratuitous, which made it even funnier.
I loved the antics of Bernardo and Casimiro and their respective lady friends, and of their mother Dona Pirina, who was prone to hiding their clothing when they took showers. And just about everything to do with the "tribe" was hilarious, beginning with the necessity of swimming underground to get to their village!

Uga Uga is a funny spiced mix with a bit of "Tarzan", "Runaway Bride", "The Fugitive", "The Fight Club", "Mr. Magoo" and a lot of movies or series I can't recall. Besides an incredible (and sometimes absurd) story, this soap opera shows different aspects of the Brazilian society, including real amazonic indians, amazing landscapes and great actors with convincing performances. If you want to see romance, action, comedy, thriller and drama together, surely you should see this soap opera.
