The film Deals with the life and works of 19th century philosopher, social reformer and intellectual known as Kabir of Karnataka and the earliest Muslim poet in Kannada.His verses though at the outset seem to tell about the day today life of a common man, but they portray spiritual aspect of life,dealing with relations between individual soul and the universal soul ( Atma and Paramatma).. An excellent film which great caste and excellent folk songs composed by Ashwath and lyrics by the Santha shishunala sheriff. actor Cherida was highly acclaimed and he won the Karnataka State Award for his role in the movie. One the whole a great movie with beautiful folk songs like Hokkaido Jivaro, hodagana kolli nungita, soru thihudu Manya malligi, kodavella karagi ninna.....

Another amazing creation of Nagabharana.Aswath's music is enchanting, Esp kodagana kolli nungitha,soruthihudhu, Taravalla Thangi Ninna,Naanaarembudu,Hoguthihudu,and others. All of them the compositions of Saint shishusnala shariffa.The music is traditional folk music of North Karnataka.

Shishunala is born in a Muslim Family. He has gifted talent of music. He is spotted by the Hindu pontiff Guru govinda who persuades shishunala's father to take son as his student. Shishunala learns Hindu traditions, hymns,epics from Guru govinda.He will go on to become saint who will be worshiped by both the Hindu and Muslim communities.

There also exists a shrine for the saint in Indian state of Karnataka.
