Kotwal Saab is the only action film Hrishikesh Mukherjee made. In 1980s it was action films trend so also he had launched Actor films like Auqat with Amitabh Bachchan and Laathi with Dharmendra. But both films worked. But in early 1980s he made 2 very successful films like Khubsurat & Rang Bhirangi.
