One of the greatest movies ever made in the Kannada Film Industry

This movie has it all: A complex and unpredictable plot, enormous emotional appeal, beautiful scenery (and photography, especially for the time), and songs that will go down in history as some of the finest to ever grace the Kannada language. The title song in particular is unbeatable.

But the most impressive thing about this movie isn't any of its individual points. It's the fact that, taken as a whole, it is deeply philosophical and captures many of the fundamental characteristics of the human condition. It really makes you think about the material in a way that few works do - a testament to impressive directing and flawless acting.

Manasa Sarovara is a must-watch for all Kannada speakers. Its message is universal, and continues to be both relevant and poignant half a century later.

A true depiction of Human mind

A superb movie by Puttanna Kanagal, which said that its almost derived from his personal love life.

Keeping that apart...this movie comes out as a true depiction of Human Mind and the turmoil in it. Very good story, well written screenplay and good music especially the "Neene saakida Gini" which is wonderful and picturised effectively. This is one of Superb Classics of Kannada/ Indian cinema. Great performance by Srinath, Padmavaasanthi and Ramakrishna. Some of the best scenes are the padma & doctor at the lake where he gives comparison of mind with that clear lake and how it can get disturbed, the doctor ripping the boat, breaking the cart and still remain quiet, breath taking views of the manganese mine in Sondoor and the climax
