Great cast, darkly humorous, worth seeing

What a great first film by Scott Barlow. An outstanding cast, great writing, beautifully filmed and directed. I thought it was a bit slow in getting started, but once in to the story it hooks you and you go along for the ride of the fateful "Last Late Night". I am looking forward to Scott's next film. Definitely worth seeing!

Endorses hard drug use

This offensively self-important movie actually endorses cocaine. I don't say that lightly.

This single-set movie does not move literally or artistically. A sort-of funny performance out of ultra-slacker Paul does not make up for Barlow's uninspired direction and audience-insulting finale. The movie closes with a supreme cop-out, as opposed to an ambiguous open-end. I do not recommend to anyone.

Hilarious and surprising

It starts a little slowly, but the characters are well developed and the dialogue pulls you in. The language is a little rough, but it fits the characters. Watching it with a film festival audience at a sold-out screening was especially fun, because the writer/director, Scott Barlow, is a first timer, and the audience response had to thrill him. This guy will be heard from again. Great first effort and a movie that I would strongly recommend to friends.

great social comedy about a sad subject

This was a great social comedy about a sad subject, addiction. We've all heard this story before, but the movie gives it an end-of-the nineties twist, with lots of cute details about the way we live now. I really loved some of these characters & left wanting to know more about them.

Sharp dialogue; Lots of laughs

No-name indies are usually pretty disappointing. Not this one. A little awkward in spots, but the writing and the acting bring it off. Better than half the stuff I see on cable these days. Pretty good web site, too. (Does Ginger Lynn Allen ring a bell?) Paul, the main character, is unforgettable. Great performance by Graham Galloway. Here's hoping we see more of him...and more of Barlow's stuff.
