Avis à la une
Dasharatham is a movie that was made far ahead of its time but was still appreciated well. Made in 1989, when the protagonist wants to have a child, he goes in for artificial insemination. In most movies in other Indian languages, some even as recent as 2002(Chori chori chupke chupke), whenever the heroine was not able to bear a child, the hero would have to sleep with another woman or something like that. This one is sans any melodrama and the climax too has been dealt with in a professional and believable manner. Its admirable that the director had the guts to make the movie at that time when this technology was not even that popular. Kudoos to him for presenting it in an excellent manner.
I'm writing this review just for the sake of contributing another 10 star rating for this movie. If that can make a slight difference, then I would be as satisfied as I was, after watching this movie. First things first, Mohanlal deserved a national award for this. If this can't get you one, then I suppose the jury made a huge mistake that year. He just lived it and it would be undermining if I said that even his fingers acted with emotions at times. It brought tears to my eyes and, trust me, I don't usually cry that often watching movies Coming to the story and direction, this movie was far ahead of it's time. I really did a background research to know if any movie was made on the same plot anywhere else and failed to find one, which proves it. Every actors did justice to their respective roles, especially Nedumudi Venu and Karamana. Songs were timed perfectly and didn't really spoil the feel. If you haven't watched the movie, please do right now and come back to give a 10 star rating. C'mon we should make our opinions hear loud or else these movies won't get the appreciation they deserve.
I decided to watch this movie after seeing a video where someone mentioned how Mohanlal's fingers "act" in the final scene and wow they were not exaggerating. This film is undoubtedly one of the finest from the Golden Age of Malayalam cinema. Dasaratham takes you through the journey of a man who thought money could buy him anything, only to learn that some things are truly priceless.
Mohanlal's final breakdown was pure brilliance and easily some of the best acting I have ever seen. His effortless portrayal of emotions is unmatched. This is truly one of the finest Malayalam movies I have experienced. The Sibi Malayil Lohitadas combination never disappoints and this is yet another masterpiece from them.
I am currently on a nostalgic trip, revisiting old classics that shaped the Malayalam film industry. I might have seen many of them before but I am rediscovering their magic all over again.

Sibi Malayil's direction plus the awesome on screen presence of the gifted actor Mohanlal pulls off one of the well sorted out movies ever made in malayalam history. The unusual story line of a wealthy guy who doesn't know what he wants is articulately played by Mohanlal.Murali delivers an appreciable performance along with Rekha who plays his wife.Karamana Janardhanan Nair and Sukumaran also deserve praise. The story starts off showing the carelessness of Mahanlal as we get the spoiled rich brat feeling. Then he feels that he needs some responsibility in life and what does he do ? decides to adopt a baby. That too from his own blood .The thing is that he doesn't want to marry. Then Rekha who needs some money comes into the picture and the doctor played by Sukumaran arranges a meeting.Rekha need the money to treat Murali and she agrees to bear Mohanlal's child. The ending has a special thing about it and the charisma of Sibi Malayil is shown off conclusively. Great film to watch and a collectors item for sure.
The climax of Darrahat, if Mohanlal broke down on Sukumari's shoulder and said, "Anne Monne Snakeman is a Maggie in Snehamoho," you will see his fingers, and understand what they are. Mohanlal's dance performance is in favor of Sukumari.
Dasaratham is a movie written by Sibi Malayil by Lohithadas. The film, released in 1989, tells the story of a pregnancy hired work. The character presenter Mohanlal is renting a woman's uterus to give birth to her baby. The woman is not ready to give up the child at last. Mohanlal is ready to give the kid his daughter. Mohanlal asks the nurse Sukumari to give up the baby and Anini loves the magic as he loves her son. The story of Mohanlal is a classic example of the climax scenes in the Dasrath.
