The Little and Large Show

would love to see all the little and large shows out on DVD why there not on on DVD ill never know but this needs addressing asap. I would love to see Syd and eddy on DVD they were 1 great act and part off my childhood growing up. and plus they didn't have to swear to be funny. there is not enough of all the old stuff out on DVD kizzy from 1976 is another programme that needs to be bought to DVD also bob says opportunity knocks and the grumble-weeds bobby davros TV weekly copy cats all them lost classics seaside special Jim fix it tons of stuff that really needs to be looked at and put on DVD. there are plenty of the good old TV shows from years ago that could be put on DVD. there are great shows already on DVD but quite a lot of stuff missing.

Really unfunny double act who regrettably got their break on the BBC after Morecambe and Wise went to ITV. The first time I saw these 2 was on Seaside Special early Saturday evenings - a classic for seeing bad amateur acts.

In the great list of double acts this rates as amongst the worst along with Cannon and Ball. I assume these 2 are now reduced to Christmas Pantomimes and a stint at the seaside peer.

Rarely has such rubbish been on the BBC and as a license payer I feel rather indignant. Same unfuuny jokes, same formats week after week after week - terrible !! I note not available on DVD - good.

When the BBC's prize-winning and audience-charming comedians Morecambe and Wise left the corporation in the late seventies, the search was on for a replacement, and by signing up Syd Little and Eddie Large, they were certainly settling for less. Although they were, in essence, two rather likable jolly jokers who wouldn't have been out of place in the theatre at the end of a seaside resort's pier or any boozy British nightclub, they were hardly a substitute for Eric and Ernie. They were scarcely even a 'proper' double act - Syd wasn't so much a straight man as a gormless stooge, whilst Eddie did poor impersonations (always of Deputy Dawg, for some reason) and attempted to sing the odd ballad. The overall effect was embarrassing rather than funny, and when this lame ruse failed they fell back - with disconcerting regularity - on such politically incorrect ploys as boxing kangaroos, 'funny foreigners' and topless girls (seen from the back only) which might have been charming in more skilled hands, but which only served to underline the desperation of this cut-price televised cabaret. Little and Large vanished from our screens back in the nineties, but they're still around and if this kind of thing is your bag, catch them at a caravan park near you.
