Georges Yverlin, a successful crooner, meets Martine, the daughter of a major industrialist. At the young woman's request - she has already divorced three times - he gives up his career and accepts a position where he has nothing to do, in his future father-in-law's factory. Georges soon finds himself bored despite the love he has for his wife, then his first quarrels. Exasperated, he goes so far as to sing in the streets.
Another vehicle for singer Georges Guétary, this harmless comedy is palatable ,even for these whose musical tastes don't run that way ,thanks to talented Marc -Gilbert Sauvageon 's pleasant screenplay and some lines that hit home; Ginette Leclerc ,par excellence the French bad girl , is here the spoiled only child of a wealthy industrial ,at the beck and call of a girl he's in awe of : Felix Oudart as the rich daddy and Alfred Adam as the greedy manager steal the show from the bland principal.
Here ,it's the hubby who sacrifices his career and becomes a puppet ,relegated to a position of secondary importance ,in an office where the telephones don't work and where his secretary spends her time knitting ;another good idea is to have the hero become a street singer , to hold up to ridicule the la-di-da father and his daughter who sends violets to a future fiancé ; of course, the songs come every fifteen minutes ,but the fast forward button is there to be used.....
