This is a Malayalam film well known as the last film of the great actor Sathyan. He had passed away before being able up shoot the last scenes of the film.
The film is a clear character sketch of the protagonist, roles in which Sathyan thrived, be it films like Yakshi or Odeyil Ninnu.
With grey shades, the character makes you want to root for him despite all his flaws. And that can only come from a brilliant performer.
The story is about a local Communist leader who unfortunately is not a good father or husband. He however always stands up to the cause of the downtrodden and that leads to many hardships.
How he comes to the realization that being morally upright also matters is the gist of the film.
A multi starrer including Sheela and Prem Nazir, it's a recommended watch.
The story could have had a better ending to convey the message right than having a sympathy note which confused the message.
Which is why I rated it 7/10 on IMDB.
