Avis à la une
Weird little movie which scenes seem to happen in a rather disconcerted way. A decadent countess (Lida Ferro, a theater actress), named De Angelis but not at all angelical, has created a kind of religion to "enhance senses exaltation" in order to "exorcise love", and enrolls at her party to "extend her harem of perverts". Therefore, she relegates within a derelict villa, in a kind of early reality show, a young and vaguely protesting bohemian bourgeois (Gianni Dei, Un bianco vestito per Marialé) and his two female friends, the brunette Silvia with her good girl dress (Rita Calderoni, Un tranquillo posto di campagna), and the blonde Mary with her frightened childish sensuality (Marina Lotar-Hedman before her adult career), in order to perform a treasure hunt which should shatter their friendship.
In a peeping atmosphere with very soft eroticism, the thighs of the original title happening to be not only the chickens ones, the maneuvers of this "truth game" begin, from the usual front of the sea stroll with few clothes, like in Interrabang, to the morbid mood of a park full of birds, like in Love and Death in the Garden of the Gods. And fatally, between the arrival of a strange herbalist (Aldo Massasso, Morte sospetta di una minorenne) and the apparition of the countess as a De Chirico silhouette, murders don't take long to start, steered by the tune of the eponymous lullaby, only clue given to the players. Morality: "be careful towards who stay close and let them stay away". (Viewed in Italian 1.85 aspect ratio 1h29 version.)
