    It was a great show.

It was a great show. I was 5 when it came out. I do hope it comes on Game Show Network. Lingo kind of reminds me of Scrabble in a way. It's funny that all the great game shows were from the 80s just like the best music was from the 80s. Scrabble sadly ended in 1990 just like the best decade. I used to come home from school and watch scrabble every day. It was Chuck Woolery's best show in my opinion. Greed was pretty good but too heartpounding. Love Connection was good. Lingo is great. Hopefully GSN comes out with some new classic gameshows not these crappy new shows on here now. Other shows I would like to see are classic Price is Right shows. Also another show I liked that I wish GSN would show is Name That Tune. That is a great game show. Also the MTV show Remote Control would be cool to see on GSN.

    best game show ever

Scrabble was THE BEST game show created in the eighties. Getting fired from Wheel of Fortune was the best thing that could have happened to Chuck Woolery. Without Scrabble, daytime TV wouldn't have been the same in the eighties. I loved when the contestants popped a tile in, and chose a letter from the 2 available, the letter would animate across the screen and drop in the word if it fit in the word.

I loved that bell in the Super Sprint round that signaled on the next word. I hope someday they revive this show. Chuck Woolery is the best game show host ever!

    Revival or GSN!

I enjoyed this show, too, and kind of rue the fact that there aren't more game shows like this(or for that matter, that there are precious and view true "game" shows,as opposed to reality contest shows). Anymore,it seems like when a game show(by the networks' definition) comes out now,it's one of these sort of all-or-nothing,"Let's see how the contestant/sucker reacts when they are left with nothing when they thought they'd be playing for millions!" type show,a la "Greed"(another Chuck Woolery show, from when work was hard-up it seems),"The Weakest Link" or "Deal or No Deal",the last show I have not seen yet,but it seems a lot like a stripped-down version of "Let's Make a Deal",which was not one of my favorites. In short,I wish there were more shows on that rewarded people for their actual skill/knowledge that featured real competition(as much as I enjoy "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire",it falls short of that last standard).

Mr. Woolery hosted this show which was a re-formatting of the "Scrabble" game, where contestants would try to solve board puzzle words, ten words max. The first one to three words solved goes to a "Sprint" round, which matches the winner of the previous round with a previous sprint champion. The format was changed to tournament style around and about season three and the largest take-home winning was around $120,000 or so,which, sadly, seems chintzy by today's gaudy game standards, but still IS quite a bit of money,I must say.

I wish either this show would be revived on network or cable or that the original series(and even the 1993 revival, which lasted a whopping six months!)would be picked up on GSN,or even perhaps both. This show was fun for anyone who likes word games that are a little more challenging than, say,"Wheel of Fortune"(a show I actually quite enjoy, too,BTW).

    Fun game show

I used to watch this show when I was a little girl. First off, I must say that it was a pretty good show. Also, I haven't seen every episode. However, if you ask me, it was still a good show. I don't remember the theme song pretty well, though. Even so, it was fun to play along and watch. I hope some network brings it back so I can play along and watch again. If that happens, I will be really happy. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that I'll always remember this show in my memory forever, even though I haven't seen every episode. Now, in conclusion, if some network ever brings it back, I hope that you catch it one day before it goes off the air for good.

    Loved this show!

I used to watch this show religiously when I was a kid, both from when it was on in the '80s and the reruns on USA. I loved how a letter in the word moved from side to side or up and down and if it didn't belong, it popped like a balloon. I thought that was really funny. I especially liked the "Scrabble Sprint" round, mostly because there were no wrong letters. I hope Game Show Network includes this show in their lineup soon.

In 1987, the show had a special week where game show hosts played against each other for at home contestants who had sent in postcards. The participants were Tom Kennedy, Peter Tomarken, John Davidson, Bill Rafferty, Jamie Farr, Marc Summers, and Chuck Woolery. Summers sub-hosted when Woolery played.
