This is it. The worse movie ever made. I'm dead serious.

A 1978 Star Wars clone, shot in videotape and transfered to film, meant to be a comedy for small children - filled with bad chroma key, no plot, no acting, and several minutes of slow motion fighting and reverse shots. This is it, folks, look no further. This is the worse movie ever made.

It is such a challenge to go trough this mess, it barely represents a movie, being more of a audio-visual experiment, and a failed one. Maybe on a different scenario it could be considered a self-indulgent avant gard piece of abstract audio-visual art, but not a movie. No, ladies and gentleman, there's no movie here.

The "Trapalhões" did a lot of bad movies back in the 70s and 80s. The main audience for their "comedy" - and I use this term with caution - were very small children and the uneducated poor people from Brazil, so they never sets their standards too high. They worked with shoestring budgets, which made things worse, in a country and time where movies and filmed entertainment was in its infancy.

But there's no excuse for this. No explanation. An experiment in anti- comedy, an INCREDIBLY slow-paced "film" that serves no purpose. It's hard to find humor in watching this sad and dadaist piece of Brazillian 70s anti-cinema. Avoid it like the plague. I mean it.

What if the Three Stooges were the heroes of Star Wars ???

This is a Brazilian movie, starring the Three Stooges of Brazil : The Tramps. The movie starts out with a car chase in which the Tramps are being followed. After the car chase the Tramps encounter Prince Flik (an alien) who is locked in an epic battle with Zuco, over a Brain computer. Flik is there to recruit people to help him (and the princess) to fight Zuco.

This movie was intended for children or for brain-fried drug users, since it makes very little sense. It is very much a Star Wars clone, except without any logic and obviously meant as a comedy. Most of the characters have Star Wars counterparts. Prince Flik is obviously a Luke-lookalike and Zuco is Darth Vader, except wearing more gold and having various motor skill problems. There is also a Chewbacca lookalike, lots of Tuskins (who can forget the Tuskin fight scene ... that will NOT end ???!!!), and Princess Leia. The director uses slow motion shots, reverse shots, fast forwards, dumb sound effects (hitting sounds included "boink", "dink", and "ping") and triple takes to "move" the story along. I have not even mentioned the slow-motion fight scenes, complete with boxes full of drop-kicks (provided by the drop kick champion, William Shatner). The music sounds like a 70's disco night in Cairo, Egypt.

The main problem with this movie is the length. It is an 88 minute long movie. There are scenes that seem to go on forever with little to no resolution. One such scene is the "Tuskin" village fight/kidnapping. Another would be the trip to the "space disco" (Mos Eisley). The scene is at least 10 minutes long, in which the aliens do the alien "disco". The alien disco would be like two zombies trying to dance. The Tramps then proceed to monopolize the dance floor, by doing the human disco. This then all turns into a bar fight, complete with drop kicks, slow motion, triple takes and the annoying "sound" effects. I am not even going to get into where the Tramp's female companions came from and what they're suppose to be doing. Most of the fight scenes consist of Dolemite-like hand to hand fighting or bonking someone on the head with a stick (there also some Stooge-like slapping). One of the strangest scenes has to be Didi's purchase of arms from an arms dealer. During the random scene (at the space disco) he shoots 5 aliens and a vehicle, all to test the weapons. When his attempt to pay for the weapons with human money is rejected, he then shoots the arms dealer.

This movie is slightly better than Turkish Star Wars, but not by much. They both drag and have nonsensical plots. For what its worth, enjoy this movie with others and with plenty of medicine nearby.

        Lame...

This movie is actually very bad

I saw this as a kid in Brazil, and I did like it. But I was about four years old... Today, all I can say is that it is a pile of crap.

The Tramps, who are the Brazilian Three Stooges, made some decent low budget comedies in the 70s and eighties. They used to be talented, in their own way. But sci-fi wasn't their cup of tea, obviously.

Im surprised that so many Americans posted comments on this film here on IMDb. I guess it happened cos this film somehow got into some of the "worst of all time" polls(fairly...).

All I can remember are endless fight scenes, slow motion scenes, terrible music, and un-funny jokes...

        Perfect for kids.

Millions of brazilians watched the "Trapalhoes" group since the 70´s. They´re NEVER meant to make serious entertainment. They´re clowns and the children love then. I have 32 years old and also I have much respect for the Renato Aragao´s work. If you have kids, give then a chance for a happy time with the "Trapalhoes".
