Rockets in the Dunes

The synopsis spoils the biggest surprise in this Cold War tale in which the CFF meets the CND back in the days, which I well remember, when if the family on a day out found a desirable swathe of countryside - in this case of the Devon coast - they were usually promptly shooed away by the army. And unexploded bombs from World War II turned up with far greater regularity than they still do sixty years later.

My heart initially sank when the cool title appeared onscreen over footage of sand yachts. But fortunately (SPOILER COMING:) the film is more interested in depicting the kids' campaign of resistance against the the invaders, who for once (EVEN BIGGER SPOILER COMING:) don't get dunked at the conclusion, despite the sea being handy.

The acting performances of most of the cast are so abysmal, it sounds as if the whole film has been clumsily dubbed into English from some foreign language. I think it may be fun to watch just for that. The plot seems derivative and predictable, the script full of cliches. Three Cheers for the Army!

A great Saturday morning picture for this teenager of the 60s Clunky acting/story. Well paced.

Beautiful locations I could feel the sand in my toes. Its well worth an hour of you time.
