I watched this awful film. In the end I got a disjointed story which can barely fit the episodes. But is it about what? The film had a great potential. A woman taxi driver. In a overtly patriarchal society in which girls are told over and over that some fields of work are supposed to be closed to them. In an aggressive and unruly traffic like the one in Bucharest. Yet nothing of that. All this is just an excuse to reconfirm the patriarchy. So the character is pushing on and off duty to regain the cliché role of submissive woman.

In the end, it is just the bad workmanship and lack of qualifications of the production team. Episodes are dropped into the story like adverts during a TV screening. People get into the taxi, start doing their part and poof! another one gets into the taxi with no trace of the previous client or his/her story.

different events of a taxi driver life. meetings, dialogs, images from București. more important, a memorable performance of Dorina Lazăr as Angela. and beautiful music by Marius Țeicu. social problems are heart of movie and this is not can be a surprise in second part of Ceaușescu regime. important is the manner for transform ingredients of Lucian Bratu, the director, to give sense to story.it is a film about a woman and her choices. and the inspiration of team has the great virtue to use, in wise manner, the delicate nuances of facts. a film like many other Romanian production about brave common heroes but who becomes, in this case, more than a stamp of propaganda. Angela the taxi driver lady, is a precise puzzle of emotions, decisions and feelings. so, a not bad film , part of a period sensitivity but almost seductive for present viewers.
