Gordon Mitchell says in an interview that the film was shot on location at "his village", actually a reconstruction of a western village in Italy, that he owned then, as owner of Cave Film Studio that was used in a few spaghetti movies.

The French version has a few cuts, namely the long presentation of the cast and characters in the opening and closing of the movie, resulting in 6 minutes less of the running time. The credits and the dialogue are different from the original version.
