Avis à la une
This is a very well done movie and the acting is fantastic.
Shame it will likely never get released or at least not anytime soon. The reason being involves some shady financial stuff by someone connected to he film which is what I was told by a good source. I have a copy of this movie on video and dvd-r that I often play.

I saw this film at a distributor's screening in LA quite some time ago. Something about it left an indelible impression upon me. Perhaps it's because it feels so real ... too real. In short, Ricky 6 chronicles Ricky's downward spiral into drugs and satanism (-5pts for spelling). Depressing subject matter. But, the acting was very good ... Chad Christ gives a particularly good performance. I hope to see him in more films in the future.
The film captures (long island, early 80's) the time and place with sharp authenticity. It has a very competent cast. The plot is compelling but depressing. Not for those of us with weak stomachs. Overall, a better than average horror/suspense genre flick, and not to be confused with your teenage/summer/slasher flick.
I finally tracked down a copy of this still unreleased flick on eBay and it blew me away! Based on the real life Ricky Kasso tragedy, this movie features a great believable cast, cool music, stylish production design, really 'wigged-out' hallucinogenic sequences, and... and...IT JUST ROCKS! A b*tchin directorial debut by Peter Filardi! NOW WOULD SOME DISTRIBUTOR PLEASE PICK UP THIS BABY SO I CAN SEE IT ON THE BIG SCREEN!
I just saw an advance version of Ricky 6, and I must say that I am COMPLETELY impressed by what I've seen. This is one of the strongest films about teenage tragedy that's been around since River's Edge, and the performances all around are devastatingly powerful and beautifully crafted. Peter Filardi has done a superlative job with his first feature as writer-director, and the hallucination sequences are some of the most creative and dreamy I've seen in a mainstream movie for some time. The cinematography also captures the essence of small town angst amazingly, with bold colour schemes and creative camera tricks. The New Brunswick locations give a desolate and painful touch to what will undoubtedly be a film that will be tough to ignore. It is based on a true story, but the film takes a more lyrical approach to the hard facts, ending in a shot that had my jaw on the ground. Needless to say, I loved it. Great music from Joe Delia, who did many scores for Abel Ferrara as well. The current popularity of Boys Don't Cry might help people notice this one, which is easily an equal to that film's quality, if not better.
