Avis à la une
However, despite its shortcomings, the film captures the era quite well and is perfectly enjoyable for people of a certain age. The shower scene is probably the film's most memorable moment and, one must say, for good reason. In those innocent pre-internet-porn days, it was scenes like that which kept many a teenage boy happy.
Set in Hull & with some good on location scenes that resemble Hull even if they are not
Some good casting even tho' they are obviously not from Hull, at least there were no put on accents
The acting was of a good quality & John Godber's sense of humour was very obvious.
A good adaption from the very successful stage play first seen at the Hull Truck Theatre.
A definitely worth watching film
Le saviez-vous
- AnecdotesBased on a stage play "Up 'n' Under" first performed by the Hull Truck Theatre Company in 1984.
- GaffesThe movie is set in Upton, West Yorkshire but at one point the team pass the Humber Bridge near Kingston Upon Hull while travelling from Arthur's house to the local rugby ground. This would be a 100 mile detour but was likely added to the movie as an homage to the original stage play being set in Hull.

[Steve walks into the changing room and finds Hazel in the shower. He eyes her up for a few seconds]
Steve: Alright love?
Hazel Scott: Alright. You coming in?
Steve: [taken aback] Eh?
Hazel Scott: Yeah!
Steve: Eh?
Hazel Scott: Yeah. Come on!
Steve: Well...
Hazel Scott: Oh, You're not shy are you?
Steve: No!
Hazel Scott: Right.
[turns off the shower, steps out and begins to dry herself]
Hazel Scott: You've had a look. Now piss off.
Steve: Oh. Right. Thanks.
[he sheepishly leaves]
