One of the last films that Producer Elie Samaha would co-produce with Millennium Films as he would go on to form, Franchise Pictures soon after with actor Andrew Stevens and it's first release being the cult hit, The Boondock Saints released in 1999. Samaha and the company would go through legal, financial trouble throughout the 2000's forcing it to shut down.
The Amoured Car getaway stunt with the School Bus and police cars blowing up took about a week to film.
The ending climatic sequence on the Hoover Dam involved some of the most complex and dangerous stunt work that had been performed on a major Hollywood production. The sequence was later featured in "Hollywood's Greatest Stunts" on the Discovery Channel.
Robert O. Ragland recycled some of his music ques from "Grizzly" (1976) in the scene in which Peter Weller's character is chased on the train tram outside the casino.
Joe Pantoliano shaved his hair off for this film. but would feature his look for The Matrix as Cypher, in which he would begin production on soon after this film was made.
