Amusing, but not in a good way

Robin will either bug you or make you laugh. Just a warning. Victor Garber looks a bit too old to come across as the macho hero. The plot line is obvious, and leaves much out if you just read the book. Not something I would suggest for mystery lovers, although fun if you want to spend a movie making fun of those in it!

Don't waste your time if you're expecting a competent mystery

Meredith Baxter is beautiful and classy as usual. Victor Garber was believable as the dedicated defence attorney. The rest of the cast ranged from marginally convincing to waste of screen space.

There were lots of choppy, dangling plot threads, and much lacking in character development. The other weaknesses included usual movie-world lack of professionalism on the part of just about all professionals, some TSTL moments, and the resolution came from pretty far afield with an extreme overreach that is typical of B-movies.

A sweet resolution of the minor romantic thread, which was not at all vital to the plot.

Fine adaptation of a great book by MH Clark

Kerry McGrath - Meredith Baxter - has been a tough prosecuting attorney in NJ for 12 years. Divorced, she has one daughter named Robin, the light of her world. When Robin's face accidentally gets hit by flying glass, a well known plastic surgeon Dr Smith treats it well. There will be no scars. While at Dr Smiths waiting room, Kerry sees a beautiful woman exit but the name means nothing. Why is the face familiar? Turns out this face was that of Dr Smiths daughter Suzanne, who was murdered years ago. The Doctor has replicated it in her memory. Odd this is. All too soon, Kerry begins studying this long ago murder. The husband Skip was convicted and is in prison. But, Kerry and a fellow lawyer Geoff believes he is innocent. Kerry is warned by her mentor Jonathan, her boss the DA, her ex husband and others to stop investigating. She won't. What perils lie ahead? This adaptation of a wonderful Mary Higgins Clark book is dandy. Baxter is great and the story compelling. Find it, Sweetie.

Parts are weird good suspense though

Suzanne Reardon is murdered and her husband is in jail a long time mostly due to the testimony of her father.

Her father is a doctor that does plastic surgery. He seems to have weird feelings for his dead daughter. He has cloned other women with his daughter's face. I felt like he had a touch of incest.

He thought his daughter was the most beautiful, best woman in the world. He testified how bad her husband was.

The only person that thinks Mr Reardon is innocent is his lawyer that sticks by him. Kerry McGrath is a prosecutor in line for a judgeship. She talks to Reardon's lawyer and feels something did happen that this man should not be in jail. There is a lot of deals going on in the background with court employees and government officials. They all try to persuade her to let the case lie.

Her x-husband is defending some of the people involved in the death of Mrs Reardon but for other crimes and he tries to talk her out of re-opening the case. His young daughter is a target of criminals involved who want the case to stay closed.

I have to say the woman that plays the doctors daughter and other women supposedly the cloned women is ugly. She really does look like she had a face job. Her nose is too thin and her lips are too big like swollen even though the characters are saying she is beautiful. I don't think so.

I love that song "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" I remember my Uncle Frank playing it on his sax.

The end is a surprise when you find out what really happened and who was involved. It is also a nice ending.
