Avis à la une
What "Rogue Force" excels at are the action scenes. All the action is brisk and exciting. The climax in particular is the best. It's just non-stop bullets and mayhem. Rooker, Di Lascio, and Patrick put in good performances too.
In the end: "Rogue Force" is 90 minutes of cool FBI\SWAT action. The plot is routine but who cares when you're having a good time.

I also couldn't believe the bad choice of camoflage they use when filming the sniper scene. Not to mention that they show a gross knowledge of the capability of their rifle when they over estimate it's effective range not by just a little bit. In this movie they "overshot" it's effective range by 1000 yards, which is double it's capability. An expert marksman couldn't have made two of the three shots with a .50 Caliber BMG, much less a .308 Winchester (7.62 X 51mm NATO). One thing that particularly sticks in my craw is that the gas tank on a car WILL NOT explode by simply putting a standard bullet through it. The mistakes and misconceptions in this movie go on and on and I can't go through every one of them with the room I have here. I think Michael Rooker and Robert Patrick were victimized in this film by shabby writing and directing. Both of their acting skills are far above what their parts in this movie offered them.
The efficient murder of a mansion full of scumbags is the latest case of vigilante justice, but Homicide Detective Simms (Diane DiLascio) can't pinpoint who's responsible. FBI Agent Cooper (Rooker) brought onboard has more of a handle on it. He's sure it's cops responsible and SWAT Sgt. Macllroy (Patrick) is looking more and more the likely leader.
Early on scenes of action are shot, edited well which many people hype up due to the fact real SWAT police procedures are used. A title card in the end credits cements the fact that real life skilled men helped out, participated in the film. Though this sentiment is largely gone towards the end as the opening piece is really the best thing here.
As for the cast, Rooker gets to play a hardcore obsessed cop which is totally in his wheelhouse. Patrick dons the police uniform again after his breakout as the T-1000 in 'T2', but is also saddled with the pic's obvious bad guy. Plenty of speeches, mixed messages carried out hastily for his character. There is a few supporting roles, but none memorable from an acting standpoint or how they tie in.
'Renegade Force' got lost in the shuffle of countless 90's dtv action trips and for good reason. A few moments rise above, but as a whole it's a rather generic experience for seasoned viewers and cannot be taken seriously. Fans of the stars might wanna give it a go as it's certainly not the worst thing on either man's resume. However nothing will wow you.
Le saviez-vous
- GaffesDuring the airport scene there is absolutely no reason why Cooper (Rooker) would ditch his body armour and helmet while in an active firefight. Also, the point of crawling under the baggage cart was obsolete because he was perusing, not trying to find an angle.
