and even less. The first movie of the series wasn't all that bad, but it was "Citizen Kane" compared to the turdballs that followed it. This thing's even worse. The only reason I watched it was because of Joe Flaherty from "SCTV," who I've always been a fan of. Guess this proves that nobody's perfect. I don't know how long this series lasted, but I didn't last past 15 minutes into the first episode. Absolutely painful. Yuk.
I've seen all episodes and I think they are mutch better than the movies. The series are cool and funny, and the screenplays are a lot better. With Casey and the beautiful Annie. If you never watch Police Academy, you better can do that soon, because it's great.
I had never seen any of the Police Academy movies. I'd be encountering the franchise, or some part of it, for the first time here. As a given, the show isn't as funny as the movies, at times trying way too hard to be funny.
While the movies had more nuance, at least I would assume, at the very least the jokes aren't unbearable, at best overly random (lest they were borrowing from the films.) The one episode I watched I managed to get all the way through, so at least they got a sense of bearability down.
It's not impossible to sit through, just corny and pales in comparison to the movie series it's based on. If you're in the mood for some cheesy screwball comedy, this is the perfect show to shut off your mind to and just have fun with it.

I think this show used to come out on Saturday afternoons on FOX. I never really found the show to be funny just interesting that some of the original cast members did some cameos. The jokes where rather lame. Not so much different from the jokes of the bad Police Academy movies, like parts 4 to 6.
Actually the only reason this show had caught my attention was Christine Gonzales lining up for revelry in a bikini during the shows intro credits. But even that didn't catch my attention enough to continue watching the show.
Having grown up watching all the previous Police Academy movies(all except the Moscow one) I liked the idea that the Police Academy franchise wasn't completely dead. So once I noticed that the show had been canceled I couldn't help but feel bad. This meant, Police Academy was truly dead. How sad. I just wonder what Christine Gonzales is doing now a days...

I am surprised a few gave this beep series a high rating. this is a bad series and the jokes are not working anymore plus most of those actors we loved in the film series are not here so that's how bad this series are.
hell.......even the later police academy movies were not so great losing much of the greatness the first films had but at least they had the original cast and that saved the day most of times.
in my view the first three films were the best and after part 3 the franchise started to get repetitive and declined but still part 4 was good and had a great moment with that "blow monkeys song scene" while parts 5 and 6 were just watchable and finally part 7 was the worst and put the nail to the coffin but this series are even worst so an advise. stay away.
ps.
for years we supposed to have a new film with steve back. let's hope we get this soon.
