Raaj Kumar's swan song

God and Gun review :

Nothing to rave about; God and Gun was a strictly average fare which still deserves a mention in this series for two reasons:

One, for being the legendary Raaj Kumar's last film to be released just before his death. Jaani played a political icon who takes on the corrupt opposition leader Sadashiv Amrapurkar. Jackie Shroff was the unemployed youth who takes to militancy after his family is bumped off in riots created by Amrapurkar. The sexy Gautami was Jaggu's love interest largely restricted to songs and dance.

Secondly, for giving a wonderful contemporary twist to the original song which was: Sachchai ki dagar pe Bachchon dikhao chal ke Yeh desh hai tumhara Neta tumhi ho kal ke.

The God and Gun version goes like this : Netaon ki dagar pe Chamcho dikhao chal ke Yeh desh hai tumhara Khaa jao isko tal ke..

The political system rot perfectly summed up!!
