Avis à la une
I couldn't believe that time, energy, film, and money was actually wasted filming this insult to Italians all over the world. The acting was horrendous, the Italian stereotypes were borderline criminal, and the abusive/sexists attitude towards women was over-the top.
I can't figure out the plot, but that is probably because there wasn't one. I can't figure out the entertainment value, but that is probably because there isn't any.
As I watched it, I was tempted to turn it off at several junctures, however, I couldn't because it was like looking at an accident scene on the highway, I knew it was going to be bad, i just couldn't tell how bad!!!! One bright spot, I saw it for free on television, so it cost me nothing but 97 minutes of my life.

I coulda gotten six high school kids to direct and shoot and act this ... thing and you wouldn't have noticed any drop off in quality. Trust me. It's that bad.
What's bad? The plot, the characters, the lines, the acting, the action, the camera-work, etc., and the stupidity of it all. 60 seconds into this movie, you already know that you're looking at a DB; and 80 dull minutes later, it's just a stiffer DB. How's that?
How bad is it? On a scale of 1 to 10? This one gets a minus 12.
Forget harsh interrogation techniques. Just threaten any terrorists or suspects with this movie, and they'll tell you everything. I guarantee it.

Very very bad. A list of bad things: - The story - The acting - The Film
This film contains probably one of the worst efforts of acting that i have ever seen from Matt LeBlanc. I don't consider him to be a great actor anyway, but his performance in Lookin' Italian can only be described as generic.
The story idea is nothing particularly inventive, a tale of discovery of ones origins and coming to terms with it. While this might work in a film with some cinematographic flair, Lookin' Italian fails to make it the least bit interesting. Couple this with the predictable plot "twists" and you end up with a film that quickly becomes a waste of precious electricity.

Unlike hte other reviews on here i really enjoyed this movie and not just because matt lablanc is in it. A big reason why i like this movie is because of matt lablanc over his part in friends as joey tribianna. But the story to this movie isnt half bad it seems like a mixup of noyz in the hood and goodfelllas. The other guy in the movie isnt half bad and him and joey have some heartfelt moments in the movie. Espacially a scene where joey comes home with a bloody nose is some exelent actingand maybe a highlight of the movie. The 2 action scenes in the movie are good and the first seems like its been ripped from a john woo movie. I would watch this movie again even if it didnt have matt lebanc in. I would reccomend this movie to fans of 90s and mafia fans. It really is an over looked movie and think if you read this you should give it a go!
If you took this movie and edited it down to 15 mins you would have a parody that would not look out of place in something like the Kentucky Fried Movie. As it is the over acting, shoddy direction and awful script just add up to another wasted hour and a half.
